Ive asked my mastering engineer about Sonarworks and generally the whole idea of room correction after he mentioned he is using (at that time) the Reference 3 in his studio. Some time after I went thru Sonarworks web and read thru the description. There it was, all that what my technician told me this time even with pictures. I purchased the Reference 3 (after registration, I received free update to v4) with measuring mic at my local dealer and been using it for about 6 years now? Most of the time I had 2pairs of speakers and some headphones. Ive just upgraded to SoundID, and I like most of the advanced features it provides... Now I can make the speakers sound brighter or darker, make little tweaks myself... Before I started using Reference, my tunes sounded quite different on every speakers... After I started using Reference I learned to mix my tunes so that they sound same no matter what speakers played on.

I love the way that Sonarworks allows easy translation between the three studios where I work. The default is very close but the ability to tweak the correction curve is great.

Hello, Thank you for reaching out! Yes, the flat profile will sound different than your usual headphones as there are no boosted frequencies across the frequency range. Simply speaking, if your headphones were harsh on the high end then SoundID Reference will reduce the harshness to make the sound more even. It might take a moment to get used to, but when mastered, all your mixes will translate well to any other sound system. I hope this helps!

I’m very satisfied with the new Sound ID I loved all new features that came in with it. And it’s now compatible with my new MAC OS X.
