I am very pleased with the upgrade from Reference 3 to Reference 4. During the speaker measurement process, I was stumped as to where to position the calibration microphone on my coaxial speakers. Support promptly advised me, sending me a photograph of my exact speaker (Pioneer RM7) with the mic position pinpointed on the image. Very professional.

After purchasing Reference 3 and 4 Studio/Headphone, I recently upgraded to SoundID Reference for Speakers & Headphones only. I am delighted with this choice and would recommend it to anyone working in music, film, video games etc.

I upgraded from Reference 4 to SoundID for my new Mac Studio and the process was quick and easy. It was also easy to transfer over my room profile on my old MacBook Pro without having to spend the time to recalibrate it again.

The upgrade went easy and there was hardly any adaptation time as the UI stayed similar to its' predecessor.

Great additions to the R4 that I upgraded from. Just adding flexibility and perfection to what I already had. My new speaker measurement are better.

When you pay $300 for software it would be nice for the upgrades to be free. Also when I bought the included True-Fi software was made to seem like a bonus, but that disappeared shortly after, making me hesitant about recommending the product to students and colleagues.

Hello, Thank you for the review. Product upgrades are paid for most software products as the development costs have to be covered. This is a normal practice among most software companies. Since SoundID Reference is a successor to Reference 4, there are no free upgrades available as it is a different product with more functionality on its own. I hope this helps!
