SoundID Reference is great! It made measuring my speakers in my room a breeze. The system wide correction makes applying profiles a cinch. Beyond correction: it really helped me understand and improve speaker placement in my room as well.

Helpful product. Customer support in using trial was excellent. Would not have bought it otherwise. Setup was very glitchy.

SoundID Reference is a great solution to experience your monitors from a different angle. The worse your acoustic situation is, the more SoundID Reference will help you improve your work.

The ReferenceID program works great, the set up was a little confusing but I eventually was able to figure it out. HOWEVER, there was an error with the install. It disabled chrome on my computer. Reinstalling chrome fixed that, but then after setting it up, I started getting a crackling noise when I tried to record with Cubase and then I realized that my UR816C Audio Interface driver was no longer an option and I could not get it to reload. Luckily I had set a restore point before installing ReferenceID so I used that and everything went back to normal except that RereneceID is still present as a plugin for cubase and it seems to work correctly now. I contacted Sonarworks about it but never heard anything back. That was almost a week ago. Until I hear back from Sonarworks I would not recommend anyone use their products. I planned on buying some new Adam reference monitors but since they seem to rely on Sonarworks I think I'm going to have to use a different set of monitors even.

Any recording person, mixer, engineer, or audiophile will attest to the nagging suspicion that what they are hearing is not "real". After setting up the calibration(s) for SoundID Reference, I can say with confidence that my work is better, as I'm able to make sonic decisions without the destructive self-doubt and guesswork that comes from not knowing how things will translate. SoundID Reference does not seem to bog the system down (either as system wide application or as plugin) and it is a breeze to use once set up. Word to the wise: Pick your time well to set up the speakers calibration. As far as I can tell at this point, my mixes and tones are translating across devices much better than they ever have. I change my setup between tracking and mixing. This requires me to change the presets. Occasionally I forget. Sometimes it takes me a while, but the difference, when I set things right, is amazing. It's also very very interesting listening to stuff I recorded without the benefit of calibration. SoundID Reference makes it very easy to hear where I went wrong (and how to fix it!)
