“I recently purchased SoundID Reference for Speakers & Headphones bundled with the measurement microphone, and overall I’m quite impressed. The calibration process was smooth and user-friendly the included mic made it easy to measure my listening environment and headphones accurately. Right from the start, the software guided me through setting up and running calibration for my speakers.
Once calibration was complete, I noticed a real improvement: sound became more balanced, with clearer mids and lows, and a more neutral overall soundstage. For mixing and casual listening both, the difference was noticeable tracks sounded more consistent and balanced.
What I appreciated is how comprehensive the system is. Having both headphone and speaker calibration in one package gives you flexibility. The measurement microphone included in the bundle removes guesswork you don’t need a separate mic. The workflow from measurement to tuning was intuitive and didn’t feel overly technical even if you’re not an expert.
If I had one nitpick, it would be that for absolute beginners, the initial interface felt slightly overwhelming (lots of options and settings), but once you run through the calibration wizard, everything becomes straightforward.
In short: if you care about getting accurate, balanced sound from your setup whether you mix audio, produce music, or just want better listening SoundID Reference for Speakers & Headphones is a solid and worthwhile investment.”
“I got the SoundID reference during Black Friday sale and immediately noticed it helped my headphone mix a lot. Especially by adding more bass so the headphones translated better (I always tended to add too much bass). It’s amazing feeling like I can trust my ears even more now in different spaces. I have a studio in two places in Sweden and in the USA. So having consistency to be able to work in both treated and untreated rooms is huge.”
“The tools were straight forward to use and immediately provided a consistent calibrated output, the alternative speaker profiles have been great for testing in different simulated environments”
“Fun to use, quite straight forward. Am a little bummed out that for the Apollo Twin X integration, you still have to buy an extra license to get it to work. So need to own an Apollo (or other viable interface) a SoundID Reference License AND a license for the add on (79,- euro). If i got this wrong @Sonarworks, please tell me how to get this thing working, because now it keeps saying start trial or buy.”
“The Sonarworks software and hardware fundamentally transforms the sound in both headphones and studio or even home monitors. It gives you a more accurate perception and makes it much easier to fine-tune your tracks — you hear things as they truly are. Even though many musicians working in studios have very good headphones and excellent monitors, the sound is often still colored to make it seem nicer. But what you really need is to hear the sound as it actually is so you can craft your music properly. This software and hardware significantly changes the listening experience and makes the workflow much faster.”
