And yes now my mixes sound similar on the speakers, on my headphones, on my iPad - ok, little less bass there ;) - and mostly important the room modes do no longer cover the higher frequencies ... which are now sometimes too clear ;)”
“Easy and guided setup to automate the tuning of my room. Enough possibilities for finetuning manually. Also good to see that Sonarworks teams up with other companies (like Adam and RME) to store the calculated room profile in the hardware’s DSP. I know where to save my money for next ;-)
One thing that I was disappointed about (and made me hold the 5th star) was the headphone correction for the Beyerdynamic DT-990. Though it’s not documented anywhere (shame on Beyerdynamic), this headphone clearly has multiple generations sold with a total different character. Unfortunately SoundID currently supports only the newer (harsher) version. Resulting in a midrange boost that is far too much for the older warmer version. A pity for such a widespread headphone model.
Most probably this wil also apply to the DT-770, but I did not (yet) test it.”
“This was the best purchase decision I made in 2024. I was thinking about buying a measuring microphone for quite a long time but always thought that this is a very hard and tehnical process and I don’t want to waste my time. “After I have tried it out for a couple of mixes and compared the result with my old mixes I really hear a differens. My mixes after the calibration is more balanced and translates better to other units. I strongly recomend this product and Sonarworks”
