I found out about the software as I was researching how to optimise the sound of the listening area in rooms that are not suited for producing a good sound on their own. Sound ID Reference is great for creating that sweet listening spot in front of the studio monitors. The software is very easy to use.

Sonarworks SoundID does exactly what you need it to, with no needless complications or unnecessary nonsense. Given that it's 2023 (at the time of writing), that's no mean feat. In a world of superfluous marketing spiel and overhyped mediocrity, it is immeasurably valuable to have a product that just does the thing you need it to with an easy and intuitive user interface.

I'm still testing with studio monitors but so far it sounds promising. Very good on my beyerdynamics dt880 headphones.

This is a nice tool but it works extremely unstable on Mac OS Monterey. The core audio and the driver itself requires frequent restarts. Also SoundId reference audiodevice often autoswitch audio output on itself when I want to use some other audiodevice directly. Enabling of correction very often doesn't work without restarting.

Hello, Thank you for the review! Yes, we are currently aware of the driver issue but there are a few workarounds: 1. You can restart the playback engine within the SoundID Reference application 2. Installing the previous version of our software will eliminate the issue. Keep note, that all of our development effort is currently concentrated on improving and polishing the SoundID Reference, so I am sure we'll get to the bottom of this soon. If you require further assistance, please let us know by submitting a support request here: https://soundid-reference.support.sonarworks.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Hope this helps!
