I've only had it out for about 5 rounds so far but its already given me some insightful information about my game. I still need to fill out a score card because, especially around and on the greens, its not very accurate. Thats to be expected when putts are measured in feet and not yards because GPS can't be that accurate. Still, for tee shots, approaches and short game, its fun to be able to replay your game in your mind while you edit and sign off. I wish I had one of these a long time ago. The price is very, very good for what you get.

The system works well and is pretty accurate when compared to garmin. The device itself is a little clunky to navigate, and is a bit larger (thicker) than I thought it would be. Overall I am happy with it for the basics and the fact that there is no subscription.

I play at Ladies Golf Club of Toronto, and the unit I got did not include course changes made over 2 years ago. With my Garmin G-12, all I had to do was connect it to my PC and run the Garmin app at the beginning of the season to install the latest updates. But it seems ShotScope does not renew its course data every season. It also has trouble detecting when I've moved to the next hole. With a 10-meter margin of error, this should not be difficult.

Hi Kuno, We do update our course maps throughout the year, we're constantly updating them. It may be your course changes are not shown on the Google satellite imagery which does make it hard to map. Please contact our support team at support@shotscope.com and we can help you out.

the product itself is ok the biggest problem is remembering to tap your club before you swing its a little to small in your pocket and i forget all about it i am also paranoid about dropping it or it falling off if i fit it to my bag i think i should have bought the H50 instead it i think that would have suited me better

This is a great tool to sort your stats. I would always keep mine but not have anywhere to store it and my old app had shutdown. This is a great place and it's easy to use after you have it connected to your phone and satellites. That process could be sped up or easier. What this needs is an ai golf coach to help go through your stats for you and give you a more clear picture of what your strengths are and what to lean on during your game but also a clear picture of what's your weaknesss and give you drills and a practice framework for you to improve and have a clear impact on your game The unit could use a tougher screen as it's easily scratched

- Amazing stats - Shot tracker performance is good, but precision on some spots could be improved - GPS lock a bit slow. - IOS app slow for course sync and review of the stats. - ShotScope Dashboard (web) very complete. - Nice product for golf performance improvement - hope IOS app could also be used to note down scores while on the course round. Third party app must be used instead.

I'll review this as a unit first then as the package with the app. The unit - Pros - * Measurements are within a yard at most of both my Garmin watch (that this replaced) and my Range Finder. So bang on with yards. * I really do like the size/clip. It sits either in my pocket or on my bag prior to the green. *Battery lasts 2 18 hole rounds provided you turn it off at the end of one. * Zero subscription costs, the tags are preassigned, recognises each tag immediately - I had Arcos as a free perk for a few months and Shot Scope is way, way better imo. * Links to GPS way faster than my Garmin S12 ever did. There is a 120m walk on my course from the nets to the first tee, it always sets up ready to play before getting to the tee, the Garmin would occasionally take till halfway down that hole to know where I was. So absolutely rapid GPS. * If you are on the green from approach direction, rather than from over the green (see cons), the putting scoring is pretty good and pretty accurate. * Very clearly shows the time during a round and that is appreciated, especially as my literal golf watch did not do this without moving back out of the scoring menu to do so. * Bright enough for the job. * hazards are well demonstrated, even if in a fairly basic way. But I knew what I was buying, it could just say "water hazard is 180 yards". in text and they would be good enough for me. * Distances of clubs are as good if not better than Arcos as, and I believe this fully, it's more accurate as it is less complicated. It isn't a vibration check, it's just tapping your club over the shot, that's it. Club used recorded, location recorded, job done. Cons - * This could be a feature of my course, as tee boxes aren't very far from previous greens, but when do much as go 1m over a green, it goes on to the next hole. My miss/skill issue is going long on approach, given this usually means taking my bag over the green, putting the bag down, working out of it's a wedge/Texas wedge, taking my gloves off etc - in that time it will immediately move on to the next hole, so if you don't select to go back a hole manually, it will think you hit a 60⁰ or putter on a 440 par 4 from the fringe as your first shot on that hole. Manually selecting to go back is annoying, you are never very sure that you have done it correctly, you might need to fix it in the app. * Selecting penalties/etc is a pain on the unit itself. Nothing about selecting a "penalty X2 OOB" is very fun to do on a tee box when you're just trying to get over the embarrassment of slicing/hooking a ball over the white stakes when your playing partners are waiting to get going. * it doesn't (unless it's a familiarity I don't know about) count shots on screen or if it does, it's not extremely obvious which seems a strange option. * I bought an extension pack of 4x extra tags to cover my entire options (think 7w, but a driving iron for windy days, etc - one of the extra tags is X1, which is part of the original set, so I can't assign one, so it is now just a spare. The App - Pros - * Genuinely, this app has no business being free. Maps, planning, stats, UI clean in app and particularly so on desktop. Easy to use, very functional, just all in all, excellent. Again, no subscription fees in this darkest timeline of everything being a subscription - just, thank you, Shot Scope, thank you so much. * Very easy to clean up the mistakes in your round. Forgot a shot? Add it in, putt it from a weird angle and forgotten you actually had a tap in at the lip that you just put in for pace of playing rather than logging it? Takes 2 seconds in the app. The edit before acceptance is excellent. I just take a picture of the scorecard before putting it in the clubhouse box, crosscheck it against shot scope, know my scores are pretty much dead on. * Genuinely just a great app that links brilliantly. Cons - * My only con, is that, and again this may be a skill issues as I've only used the device 4 times, I wish this had a "short chip" option for distances. I play a dry heathland course, that's often very windy, I am going to use my 8 iron as a bump and run club more than my 60⁰ a lot more often than you would in say, a parkland course. It would be nice to be able to select a shot type" or "do not include in distance" as, due to my use of my 8iron for B&Rs, in my stats, my 9i goes 155 on averages but my 8i is 113, because it includes all B&R as if they're full swings. Again, it could be me not knowing that is an option that is available, but it does distort what is otherwise a very accurate average shot distance. Or even just the option to select "duffed fat" or something similar. I am an engineer, who works in statistics, so I appreciate i might be far more interested in these particulars than most, but that statistical addition and the unit not assuming no one would ever go over a green would make this absolutely perfect. Final point, this was £140, £30 for 4 extra tags, so £170 all in (Inc delivery) I forgot I had Arcos on auto subscription from the trial period, that cost me £190 for the year. This is way better than Arcos at a one off payment that's less than a year. Give it a chance.

I have used the GPS function several times already and looking to start using the shot tracking feature very soon. Distances are accurate and the unit is compact and hangs on my golf bag
