I have a number of Pi Zero's now - ranging from the first releases to the latest Pi Zero W. At less than a fiver, the Pi Zero 1.3 is ideal for tinkering and learning, and if you combine it with the USB Stem, you can even hook it up to your computer, and share the internet connection, to avoid using WiFi dongles and adapters too! With a minimal setup, you can even use remote desktop or VNC to use the Pi Zero in USB OTG mode as a fully blown desktop computer, although keep in mind it is not the fastest in the world. Great board at a great price. Get one (or 5)!

I am very excite when receive the first Pi zero board, it is amazing on its performance with a tiny board size. Super cheap, it is worth for my Pi learning and Python programming, I will learn it more and make a fun for my project. Supporting from Pimoroni is also superb, thanks to the team.

I don't know if anyone has noticed but buying a small portable mp3 player to listen to audiobooks or podcasts is an expensive and frustrating experience. They start at about $50 and last less than a year when the built-in battery fails to recharge. Raspberry Pi Zero to the rescue! Combined with a $6 usb sound card, earphones and a rechargable usb power stick and I have found my true love. Using pygame mixer and disabling analog audio (comment out dtparam=audio=on in /boot/config.txt) I am now in hog heaven listening to all my favorite sci-fi audiobooks, great courses lectures, etc, etc. Thanks for making this superb little supercomputer!

It has almost all the same functionality of the pi 3 model b but is smaller and better to be integrated into projects. I personally plan on making a retropie console out of one of these, an adafruit bonnet controler and a zero LiPo with a battery. I give it five stars because of its great number of uses.

I use a Pi Zero as a MiniDLNA server and PVR and it works really well for it - I used to use a Raspberry Pi 2 which always seemed liked overkill so I swapped it out for a Pi Zero and it worked well. The speed of it is a little bit of a limiting factor when re-scanning the media library but that's only really a problem because I haven't gotten round to setting up a cron job to do it in the middle of the night. The only real downsides are the necessity of soldering the GPIO pin header, the lack of ethernet and the need for a USB-OTG cable. The latter tends to make it a little trickier to make a compact setup for things but a lot of things you might want to connect can be bypassed by using a Pi Zero W instead nowadays. One really handy feature is the ability to use the Pi Zero as an ethernet gadget. What this lets you do is use any old phone charging cable to connect to a PC and ssh directly over to it. This is great for programming pHATs, etc and if you use Windows Internet Connection Sharing you can get it online too. It's a little finicky sometimes - you may have to disable the connection sharing and re-enable it to make it connect properly - but it's great if your desktop PC doesn't have two network cards. Overall, great little things.
