“The raspberry pi zero arrived inside the packaging in a static-proof plastic bag which helped to resassure me that the raspberry pi wasn't damaged on delivery.
The raspberry pi was of an expected quality and it seemed to power on without any problems.
I would recommend this device for any small projects that would be benefited by a small computer which can also act as a microcontroller.”
“The only thing holding the Zero back for your "average" user is the lack of wifi (easily fixed with a dongle) and the single core processor that makes working at the desktop a bit of a pain. Working from the bash is a doddle, the sheer lack of size means there is almost no limit as to where you can use this Pi.
Best of all ВЈ4.80! So if you are just learning how to use a Pi and GPIO the worst thing that'll happen is you'll waste ВЈ4.80 if you fry it.”
“I have a number of Pi Zero's now - ranging from the first releases to the latest Pi Zero W. At less than a fiver, the Pi Zero 1.3 is ideal for tinkering and learning, and if you combine it with the USB Stem, you can even hook it up to your computer, and share the internet connection, to avoid using WiFi dongles and adapters too!
With a minimal setup, you can even use remote desktop or VNC to use the Pi Zero in USB OTG mode as a fully blown desktop computer, although keep in mind it is not the fastest in the world.
Great board at a great price. Get one (or 5)!”
