I've been waiting a long time for such a simple NVMe bootable Pi solution. Within 15 minutes of unboxing the NVMe base and a Pi 5, I had a nice desktop booting from a Crucial 2TB Gen 3 drive. Boot times are blisteringly quick, compared to a micro SD card. Next, to start replacing the nodes in my Kubernetes cluster with these...

Excellent value I'm using it with a cheap Ebay Kioxia nvme and it works fine. Setup was easy as the nvme was recognised right away. An added bonus is fstrim which works out of the box. Really pleased with it. Now all I need is a case!

After discarding the bottom 2 layers of my Pibow case it was possible to fit it. My SSD is a Kingston NV2 500GB which is a PCIe 4.0 device. It works perfectly even at PCIe X3 speeds so you can add this model to your list of known working devices. Maybe just add something in your instructions about your Pibow case. Great product and look forward to whatever else you guys can come up with.

The NVMe base is the best thing on the already fantastic pi5, install was great and easy, currently using 256gb Samsung 960 pro ssd and boot speed is seconds!!

The Pimoroni NVMe Base worked very well for me. I am using it with a Samsung_SSD_970_EVO_Plus_2TB (2280) running with the /boot/config.txt [all] dtparam=pciex1_gen=3 edit. The only thing to watch is that the ribbon cable is a bit tricky to insert both ends and very slightly inhibits extraction of the SD card (an extra mm would be nice - but it works with a little care). For the price, it is amazing - Thank you.
