“Worked nicely for me to run a Crucial P5 Plus 500gb ssd which couldn't run in USB enclosure over USB3 because of current drain too much for USB3, but ok with PiMoroni nvme base.
Sad that I had to discard my pi5 pibow case, and I am now running caseless. The bridge ribbon from nvme base to PI5 wouldn't go inside the case, too short and too tight a crimp, and too short to go outside with no suitable cutouts in Pibow in any case. Hoping that better pibow or alternative cases will be available to suit nvme base.”
“Product works very well. Two disappointing but minor issues. The flex cable does not allow for wider spacing meaning it must fit directly beneath the pi. Also the screw fixing to hold the ssd is not brilliant. However - excellent product and works well.”
“This product is an exceptional tool and an obvious choice for anyone undertaking a project centred on the RPI-5. This was set up and operational in a matter of minutes, showcasing an exceptionally well-crafted design and complete functionality. It comes highly recommended.”
“Worked like a charm, easy install, easy setup.. happy customer!! Used the base of the fan and sandwiched it between the pi and the base. No issues whatsoever..”
“A great little board that fits under the Pi allowing the addition of a NVMe PCIE Gen3 M.2 SSD. As it's underneath, it still allows additional Pi HATS to be attached to the Pi on top.
NVMe SSDs are significantly faster than SD cards (though the initial configuration has to be started from the SD card to set the EEPROM settings allowing booting/etc from the NVMe SSD).
A great addition to any Pi 5 setup.”
“Great little board, and for the price, I’ll have to buy a 2nd for one of my other projects now.
It does fit as a hat if you’re using the official Pi5 case, you just need some 20mm standoffs (but 22mm would be ideal).
Now to I plan to run my LLM from a 2TB m.2 drive.”
