“I recieved my NVME Base on the 18th March 24. Initially couldn't get the NVME to be recognised. I tried 3 different SSDs. What turned out to be the problem was in the online instructions I was following. In that when selecting advanced option and using latest version and if you say yes you are reverting to default position, your instructions should indicate no teh lastest version is loaded. I found this oyt whwn reading a review in Pi Mag.
So I am using a PNY 1TB NVME CS2241 SSD. Which works nicely.
I found both 990 Pro 1TB and 4TB will not be recognised.
Overal now with things all working I am very happy and recommend this product highly. May llok at you DUO base with another Pi5.”
“Thank you for the expeditious delivery! All products arrived quickly. The tracking option worked like a charm and kept me updated. I purchased the nvme base, r pi 5, power plug and cooling fan. All were installed easily without a hitch. The instructions on your website are incredibly helpful. Nice work! All is in perfect working order. I would recommend to everyone to purchase from your organization. Keep up the amazing work!”
Ahoy there!
We've now got some longer PCIe cables on the store, you can find them here: https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/pcie-flex-cable-for-nvme-base-and-raspberry-pi-5?variant=41449370943571
“My first try was a Geekworm X1003, which just did not work, even after playing around some hours with 2 different SSD drives. I just lost my nerves ;-)
The Pimoroni NVMe Base: I mounted it (which was a little fiddly), the SSD was pre-initialized with the Raspberry Pi Imager, plugged in the power-cable and ... the Raspi 5 just started from the SSD. Period.
THANKS for a solution, which just works ...
Now I just have to look for a nice case for the system, any ideas?”
