“Fantastic kit. Ideal for a first or second arcade-building project and learning about all the different bits & pieces! Mine came without instructions but you can find the documentation online, so it’s relatively easy to build. The software setup will need you to be familiar with some basic Linux command line fiddling: you’ll have to spend quite a bit of time tweaking things around (mine had trouble getting the right volume settings to work) but that comes with these types of projects. Happily, though, nothing I encountered wasn’t solvable and I found my perfect setup after a couple of attempts, which is more than I can say about my previous tries to build a Pi-based retro machine. The only drawback? You’ll probably be thinking about building a full-size arcade afterwards! The end results works wonderfully!”

“Coolest thing ever - really enjoyed making my kids play some of the garbage games I endured as a child! Screen is super clear and crisp - loud speaker is LOUD. Decent quality buttons and joystick (you can always upgrade in future if needed). Some niggles with the sound initially but that was just knowing what setting to select in RetroPie. Great fun.”
“Takes time and patience to assemble, but worth it once completed. I've been after an Arcade style setup like this for a couple of years now and this completely met my expectations.
My only real issue was during setup, I didn't find the instructions for attaching the power button at all clear and after attempting a few different configurations I broke the pins and had to buy another. I eventually got it working through trial and error.
Some macro shots in the video would me a massive help!”
“The build went perfectly, it booted and worked on the first attempt.
Worst part: The speaker connector is very fiddly. I think there was a little blob of solder on the end of my black wire that prevented it from entering the tiny connector. Please put some proper screw terminals instead!

“Wonderful, wonderful product. I got it for the birthday of my kid and got surprised how much he was able to do by himself (secretly at 7am on a Saturday, without waiting for me). The overall quality, presentation, stickers and posters are the reason I decided to buy a kit, rather than a pile of parts from China. Pico-8 was a great addition, we already had a license, but now my kid has his own :) He already plans for adding more keys or a keyboard, and I am so much gonna help him do it.”
