“Really good... pretty simple to build if you take your time, although the instructions were a bit variable in that respect (started off very detailed then I think the person writing it got bored...). Took me about 2.5 hours.
"First we'll connect up the LED part of the button. Push the spade connectors on the red and black wires onto contacts 1 and 2 (the ones sticking out of the blue bit), either way round." -- that aint going to work for an LED.. esp. when the description later on plugging in the other end is so insistent about polarity..
That's the only actual error I found though.
I didn't use the stickers - was really expecting something that went on the side as a decal but that's possibly me not reading the description properly.”
“I've been after one of these for ages and managed to nab one on sale.
It was worth the wait! The (online) instructions and build quality are excellent and I was up and running in no time. Love showing the kids some of the games I played when I was younger and being portable means we can hide away when not needed.
Would recommend it to anyone who enjoys (retro) games with an arcade feel!”
“I had no problems building the Picade and I'm pretty average at these kind of things. Joystick and buttons work great. I upgraded mine to a Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT joystick and Sanwa buttons just because I could, but not a huge difference TBH. Once I had installed RetroPie, I had to lower the volume though. Might be good if they have the steps to do this on the website. I then applied a fast CRT scanline curved filter which IMHO makes it feel more authentic. Games feel much better and fun to play on the Picade than a PC and a perfect middle ground for those who haven't the space for a full sized cabinet. One thing I hope is fixed, is I get an error when shutting down. No big deal and don't know if it is just how I installed RetroPie.”
“Amazing glad i purchased, i would say deffently read the instructions a few times before building especially the display as i jumped from 8 to 10 inch which i had and missed a bit or its missing but got it all sorted and set up, also with new retropie the soundcard was always 100% but changed a setting rebooted and it all working fine”
“A bit fiddly to build in places but instructions were clear and easy to follow. Software had a couple of quirks to figure out too, but once up and running it's a fantastic piece of kit which has already provided hours of fun.”
