“Combined with the Plasma2040, they make perfect Christmas lights. Each LED is surrounded by a translucent plastic cover that glows brightly even when it is facing away from the viewer. This means that I do not have to care about their orientation when I use them as decoration.
At full brightness (white), the power consumption (Plasma2040 + 50 LEDs) is reasonable, with a current peaking at 0.78 A. Using the connectors on both ends, it is easy to link two of these wires for a total of 100 LEDs. The total current can remain under 1 A as long as I do not try to have all LEDs at full brightness simultaneously.
I am so happy with how they look like that I ordered more of them...”
“Indeed, twinkly little LEDs, surprisingly bright even at lower voltages (even from a single LiPo cell). If you want to shorten the run bear in mind you’ll need to take care with the bare ends so that they don’t short.”
“Bought two of these. Exactly what was described and wanted. Plugged into the Plasma module, up and running in minutes. Looking forward to see how they look as tree lights this Christmas.”
“Bought these to make some internet connected Christmas tree lights. They look fantastic and are super easy to connect. They work with the espruino neopixel library.”
“Lovely bright leds, really attractive thin cables, easy to connect to an arduino. I found an awesome library (https://github.com/sfrwmaker/xtmas_neopixel) Which has turned them into a gorgeous set of xmas lights. I've put them around a window and it looks so festive!”
