Makita DUH751Z 18v LXT 750mm/29.5" Brushless Hedge Trimmer Body Only
The cordless Makita DUH750 is a Brushless hedge trimmer which is powered by a single 18 volt LXT battery. It has a 75cm (750mm) blade length and a maximum cutting diameter of 23.5mm. The three-speed selection switch gives you ultimate control for a variety of hedges.

Even though it gives dimensions, was still surprised at how big this is! Although it is a bit heavy, with the battery on, it is well balanced. I had a go and managed fine but only went from ground to waist high. Husband did the rest. If using shoulder and above, you will need muscles if doing so for some time. At normal height though it is fine. Doing the top is brilliant given it's length - easy to get a level cut. Really impressed with it and well worth the money. Took no time at all cutting 2 laurel bushes.

I have opted to give four stars for this Makita hedge trimmer as I haven't actually used it yet, but the look and feel certainly seems to be up to usual Makita standards. It feels well balanced and with three speeds should be up to most jobs.

Firstly Ive left 4 stars as Ive only used this a handful of times so far so cant comment on longevity. Ive always used petrol 2stroke hedgers but the last failed and after some research this seemed to sit toward the top of the pile. And Ive got a host of Makita tools to pinch batteries from. But so far Im above impressed. Ive not had much cause to go full speed yet but the 3 choices makes lots of sense. Its light, and the 750mm gives me more time on the ground before needing ladders which speeds everything up too. Its gone through as thick stems as my last petrol one did so no loss there either. So far win win in every sense. Please I decided to go battery power now, and if Makita keep their groundwork tools up to this standard, then as I need replacements Ill keep buying theirs. Highly recommended
