Build quality is very good as you would expect from Makita. Previously owned a mains powered mower, but now having used this cordless one, I would never go back. I thought that there may have been a lack of power, there being only a couple of batteries, however I was completely wrong! Batteries last for a fair amount of time (mowed average size front/back garden at least 3 times) and batteries still at half charge!

Small, light and easy to manoeuvre. This is a great Lawn Mower perfectly suited for a small garden. Makita make very reliable tools so I am looking forward to many years of use.

First time using a battery mower having had a steel deck self propelled petrol before. Only used a couple of times so far on my 150 or so square metres. Light and manoeuvrable, bordering on flimsy, being made almost entirely of plastic. Much quieter than the petrol and no messing about trying to get it to start. Handle folds down and the mower can be stored stood on its end to save space. Has handles to be able to carry it when folded, though I wouldn't want to lug it far. I think Makita missed a trick by not making the folded mower pull-along-able on two wheels (like a wheeled suitcase). Battery pair stand up well, dropping to about 50% after a leisurely mowing of front and back. Pickup is excellent, though so far I've only used it on relatively short dry grass. Time will tell how it performs when it's 6 inches long and wet. The charger gets warmer than I'd like when re-charging both batteries at once -mine's the slightly less expensive slow charger.

I decided to buy a cordless lawn mower as my petrol mower was too heavy causing the lawn to cut up when turning the mower. The Makita that I purchased is exactly what I needed. It is light to turn and ideal for my lawns. I went for the 5.0Ah batteries as they last longer than the lower ratings. Yes, they cost more but worth paying extra for. I am really happy with the model. It was easy to set up.

Pros: Good storage on its end, Good battery life. Quiet. Lightweight. easy to store Cons: Needs to cut the lawn more often as it can't handle cutting too much in one go. Bag drops cutting on removal to empty. Two part folding handle would be better with cam locks. Bounces on uneven lawn as it's so lightweight.
