We have been to the area several times before and knew that we liked it. We were looking for a dog friendly hotel and found Dryburgh Abbey Hotel on the Pets Pyjamas website. The drive up through Scotland to the hotel was lovely. There are plenty of walking areas in the grounds of the hotel and in Dryburgh Abbey next door. We have been members of English Heritage for many years and so could get free entry to the grounds of Dryburgh Abbey. The hotel could do with some refurbishment in places, but our standard double room was a good size, lovely and clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, and made our dogs feel very welcome too. We'd definitely return for another stay.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We were given a booklet of local walks, very useful! Thank you
What a gem of a hotel, beautiful setting off the beaten track, a wee step back in time. Great welcome for us and our dog, lovely room, good food and pleasant staff.

Dryburgh Abbey Hotel was just perfect for us and dog, Tam (with one small hiccup). We were a little nervous about staying in a hotel with Tam, and how she would react with staff and other visitors and their dogs. But Tam settled in very quickly; she quickly learned the route to and from our room and the grounds, and was keen to explore around. The room was large and very comfortable, and the setting is stunning, with well-kept gardens, trees and river. The breakfast room is magnificent, with great views and good choice of food, buffet style. We will definitely choose to stay here again. The small hiccup? I thought I'd booked for us to have dinner at the hotel on arrival, but it seems I hadn't. I requested it by email, as suggested, but that failed to reserve us a table. There really isn't much else around, so that was disappointing.

A great hotel in a perfect location. Lots of fantastic walks in the surrounding grounds. Dogs made extremely welcome and you are able to access all areas within the hotel. The staff are extremely welcoming and extremely helpful. Breakfast was fabulous

Dogs are sometimes tolerated at hotels but rarely welcomed as much as they are at Dryburgh Abbey. From the initial welcome at reception to all the staff members we met in bars and restaurants, they couldn’t have been more welcome. Aside from that the setting of this hotel on the banks of the River Tweed is stunning. A beautiful stop-off if breaking a long journey up to Northern Scotland or a lovely place for a longer break in its own right.

We spent a fabulous night at Dryburgh Abbey Hotel in April. The receptionist was extremely helpful and upgraded us to a larger room on the ground floor as we had 2 dogs and I was using a walking stick. The hotel is very dog friendly with plenty of long walks to take them on. Meals were delicious and we had a lovely time. We will definitely be back.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Was a bit disappointed that that after a nine hour drive we couldn't eat at the hotel for the first night as they were fully booked.
Stayed here for 2 nights in December. Lovely traditional Scottish Hotel. Made to feel very welcome. Food was lovely. Fabulous walks from Hotel doorstep.
