“Very pleasant location on the very edge of Dartmoor, aided by idyllic weather when we were there. Room clean and comfortable with immediate outside access. Dinner was slightly on the expensive side, (where isn't these days), but delicious. The breakfast hamper system works well with excellent muesli and delicious yoghourts. Friendly staff. Terms and Conditions are unnecessarily off-putting, with threats of fines for not checking in on time (for instance), corkage charges if you have a can of beer in your room, etcetera, which will make prospective guests question if the welcome will be warm or not.”

“The location and setting of this Inn makes it a perfect location for those wanting to hike and walk through Dartmoor. We stayed with our 3 dogs and had ample space in our room which was ideal. The only thing that let our stay down, was the bathroom which only had a bath and loose shower head, not a wall mounted one. A screen was also missing which meant the bathroom got a decent soaking everytime my husband and i took a shower. A simple fix to this solution would be to fix a screen and wall mount the shower head, so you can have a stand up wash. Appreciate the building is very old but the inconvenience of the bathroom did blight our stay somewhat, especially after a long day of walking in the rain! The onsite restaurant was lovely and the menu was fab, quality of food couldn't be faulted and the kindness of staff to ensure all your needs were met made our stay a lovely one. If i could list one thing about the food provision, would be breakfast. We received a breakfast hamper each morning but this was a cold breakfast, and ahead of a days long hike, a hot breakfast bap or english breakfast would have been much better received. We had a lovely stay, but if the few things i have listed above could be rectified, this would have made our stay a perfect 10!”

“I'll stay at the BearsLake Inn with our two doggies was fantastic. BearsLake Inn is in a great location, with easy access to the Moors and the sea isn't too far away. The food was exquisite and we particularly enjoyed our morning breakfast basket (a great idea and surprisinly fun) The quality of all the produce served is first class and appears to be all locally sourced. We certainly will be returning as soon as we can.”

“Absolutely loved this hotel from the moment we pulled into the car park. The room was fantastic overlooking the stream made even more perfect with the bottle of Prosecco. Lovely walks for the dogs from the door, and the food and staff were just the best, definitely planning another visit next year.”

“Pets Pyjamas were very good and organised a lovely dog friendly room. Chilled prosecco in room and dog treat and bowls in a a hamper basket. Breakfast was a hamper delivered to your room and was very well presented and filling.”
