“Lovely dog friendly hotel. The rooms were clean and cosy. The bar area was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. They brought out a bowl of water for the dog before I even thought of it. The food was amazing. Large portion sizes. We stuck to the bar menu and everything was delicious. The grou is were beautiful and the was a washing station for the dog incase they got muddy. We were able to park very close to our room with ample parking for the amount of rooms available. I would definitely come again”

“I choose the New Place Hotel for a weekend away with my husband and our dog Luna. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Endang - a lovely lady who made us feel very welcome. Luna was greeted with a treat. My husband and I had a chilled prosecco waiting in the room. The room itself was very small but suitable for a short stay. The only reason I gave 4* is the noise. Luna reacted to every loud noise, especially at night. We had breakfast and a 3-course dinner included with the booking. The food was very good and we had a chance to try a new dish every single day. We were able to eat in the bar area as the dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, but it didn't bother us at all. Luna particularly liked her walks on the hotel grounds. On the day of arrival, we watched Rugby and had a few beers in the local pub The Black Dog which accepts dogs. The food there was great too. The hotel is conveniently located a short drive away from Winchester and Salisbury. We also used the leisure facilities in the hotel such as the pool, jacuzzi, and sauna. Overall, we had a good time and would recommend the hotel but for a couple of nights maximum if you are travelling with a dog because of the noise.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Didn't have many interactions with staff for Loki to have a warm welcome. No doggy sausage provided.

“Great stay and hotel is perfect for dog owners. Room opens onto a grass area, which allows is perfect for the middle of the night situations... The ground's are beautiful and our dog loved the daily walks round the woods etc. The best part after the walk there is wash bath station! The bar area you can take the dogs and we had no issue for dinner, breakfast or lunch. You can have either restaurant or bar menu which worked out fine for us. Something to consider, If you are bringing fresh food for the dog, the classic double rooms don't have a fridge. Reception has 24/7 manned and do have a fridge but it's not as convenient. Superior rooms do have a fridge apparently. We couldn't fault the facilities and was perfect for what we needed and our Loki had lovely ( tiring) weekend too.”

“This hotel is perfectly placed for us and our two spaniels for a one night stay. The deal was great value as it included a three course dinner. You eat in the bar area (which is lovely) if you choose to dine with your dogs and can order from either the bar or restaurant menu. We would recommend the restaurant menu as the food was excellent, much better than expected! The grounds are really beautiful and fully scure so you can roam through the woodland with your dogs knowing they're safe. There are ample poo bins provided (more than our last stay). The rooms are small but very clean and functional. There are great walks at the Forest of Bere and Meon Valley Trail which are a short drive away.”

“Great food, comfortable rooms, lovely staff. Very good place for dogs. We had a ground floor room with doors out onto a grassy area (ideal for late night calls of nature). The grounds are huge, 1km circuit walk before breakfast. For the humans, a gym and Ev charging. Dogs in the bar not the restaurant. We will be back.”

“Lovely place, nice walks within grounds with our dog. Booked a superior room. It was not! carpets seen better days, leaking radiator. Shower head leaked .no soap to wash hands. (We did ask for soap,and gave us one straight away) nothing in the room for the dog. Not the best place to take your dog.”

“Hi we stayed at the Hotel for 1 night only, with our 11 yr old Staffy Roxi. The hotel & the grounds were amazing, and the room, which is separate from the main building was very nice. Clean, well placed & all the amenities connected to the Hotel seemed ideal, even though we did not have time to use them all. We used the bar area for drinks in the evening, and for a nice full breakfast, as we were allowed to take Roxi into the bar area, which was nice. We will definitely go there again. Please don't take much notice of the bad reviews, as the Hotel, all the staff were great, from the receptionist to the bar & kitchen staff, and the cleaners, Thanks Phil, Theresa & Roxi (Exeter, Devon).”
