“Just got back from a weekend break at Soar Mill, it was absolutely fantastic! The rooms are spacious and comfortable. They go above and beyond for the pooches. Every member of staff wants to greet your dog and ours even got a sausage for breakfast and a little treat in the bar. One of the things I loved is that they allow your dog to stay in the room without you. Ours gets restless if we take her to dinner unless she has been walked miles, so to be able to leave her in the room was a blessing. We walked for MILES and it is stunning, the hotel is literally tucked away on the coast and saw a beautiful sunset from our room. We will definitely be back!”

“We have stayed at a few Dog-friendly hotels, and they have been Dog friendly. However, Soar Mill went above and beyond for us. Firstly the hotel itself is small but mighty! With an incredible view and location. Making it perfect for Dog walks! The staff themselves are incredibly kind and caring and the hotel is run by a lovely family whom we had the pleasure to meet some of them. Having a large Dog, sometimes hotels aren't as flexible, but here, nothing was an issue. The only places that Artie wasn't allowed was the Lounge and Spa, both understandable and wasn't an issue for us as the Bar and the dining room were not off limits. (We do love a cocktail, which was made exceptionally by Clive the knowledgeable bartender) We stayed over NYE and attempted to leave Artie in the room, however he wasn't a fan and the staff was so accommodating and was more than happy for Artie to attend ALL the festivities, including a black-tie dinner. (I mean, how many Doggos get to do that!?) Which he LOVED. They also let us order off the kids menu for him whenever we wanted, he was allowed by our side in the restaurant and they even gave us the option to sit in a private section if we wanted to. Doggy wash outside, Dog poo bin easily accessible and water and food bowls in the room for him. This was our favourite Dog friendly hotel so far and them being so flexible meant we have some incredible family memories. Would stay again in a heartbeat and plan to do so in the Summer. Thank you to Soar Mill Cove and to Pets Pyjamas for making everything so easy as always!”

“The Soar Mill Cove Hotel is hidden away, not far from me, beautiful Cove with a sandy beach nestling in the hills near Salcombe. The hotel is discreet and lovely. The chef cooks the most wonderful meals, and all the staff are friendly and dog loving. This is a highly recommended hotel for animal lovers and beach lovers!”

“Had a relaxing few days at the soar mill cove with our dog misty, hotel is set in a very scenic position with great views out to sea. Room was okay bathroom is dated with old fashioned bath shower and the dreaded shower curtain probably could do with an upgrade, lovely big soft towels which you can warm on the hot towel rail which was good for drying stuff. The staff are the real stars at this hotel they could not have been more welcoming to us and misty, Liam in the restaurant was lovely and got misty a sausage for breakfast. Food was very good and there is everything you want at the breakfast. If you are not to strong on your feet you might find walking around the hotel grounds a challenge as it’s very hilly and dramatic, but beautiful. To sum up staff make this hotel, your dog will love it here, if they are happy then you are happy.”

“The Hotel was excellent, the room was perfect too. Dining at the restaurant was superb with a great choice at breakfast,the evening dining menu though the choices not extensive the food we had was delicious. And last but not least the staff were very friendly & courteous special mention to Mimi & Liam who couldn’t do enough for us also thanks forMimi for sharing her knowledge of the local area.”

“This place takes dog friendly to a whole new meaning! Every member of staff loves dogs so you feel instantly relaxed the minute you check in. Beautiful location. Food excellent. Spa and pool clean and perfect for the size of a small hotel. Jenny’s gin a must try! Peaceful and relaxing and we will be returning next year. Seldom do you feel so genuinely welcomed in a hotel - this bunch have it by the bucket full.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? There isn't enough space, just that the whole experience at Soar Mill Cove was amazing!

“Way beyond our expectations! The hotel is understated but with magnificant, uninterrupted views of the cove. Lots of space for doggies to run around in. Staff were more than amazing and couldn't do enough to help us - for example, we requested a z-bed so that the 3 of us could all sleep in the main room, the Receptionist and Maintenance guy arrived and moved one of the single beds into the main room for us. Clive in the bar was engaging, enthusiastic and keen to review some of the drinks stocked in the bar with us. We loved Jenni's gin so much that we came away with two bottles purchased between us. The restaurant was very good, with panoramic views of the Cove, and all the staff were clearly as devoted to the dogs as they were the humans :-). Will definitely revisit at some point.”
