“We stayed over the Easter weekend and we loved every minute of our stay. The staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food is absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be staying there again . Our dog lulu felt comfortable and for her first holiday, definitely recommend this hotel to any pet owners. We took lulu all over the hotel”

“Great hotel! The pictures didn’t do it justice! We had a fantastic room with a door straight to the outdoors which made it easier with 2 dogs. The hotel was so dog friendly. Dog towels everywhere as well as spare poo bags and treats. The food at the hotel was amazing! My son said it was the best burger he had ever had!”

“We stayed here for 3 nights in March. It was the first time we had ever done a “Dog friendly” break and I wasn’t expecting much if I am honest. I had in my mind that the room would likely be a bit shabby and tired to allow dogs to stay with you, but I could not have been more wrong Our room was spotless and comfortable, with crisp clean bedding and a really sweet separate lounge area to chill out in to boot. The grounds are lovely, with a fantastic field at the back with the river running through where you can exercise the dogs and they can run free. Some of the rooms even have separate private terrace areas for you and your dogs to enjoy. Our room was upstairs so we didn’t use this facility but it didn’t matter at all as they are welcome throughout the hotel so you are not made to feel uncomfortable walking through the communal hallways with your doggies to get anywhere. On arrival a doggy bowl for water, complete with a couple of doggy bone biscuits awaited our boy, which we really appreciated, such a cute gesture. The effort the staff went to in order to make our visit with our little rogue perfect was over and above. Maddie, Lindsay, Tom, Stephen and all the staff (including the lovely girls on the room cleaning crew) were friendly, approachable and really helpful with suggestions and ideas on where to visit while there. You can tell everyone genuinely enjoys working here, it shows in all their demeanours and in the fact that many of them have worked there for a number of years. The food is excellent, and the addition of the doggy dinners you can purchase was a really nice touch, we treated our boy to a doggy dinner on our last evening. The breakfasts are perfect, something for everyone and nothing too much trouble. In the restaurant we enjoyed all our food choices. My husband especially enjoyed the burger (and told me how much he enjoyed it several times during our meal that night). With dogs being allowed to accompany you it also meant that we felt we could take our time and enjoy our evening without having to rush to check on him elsewhere and leaving him alone in a strange environment. We very much enjoyed chilling out by the open fire with a cheeky drink. (Sorry about finishing off the rum guys, but we do like to try local products and did end up buying a bottle to take him with us - yum!) it’s a relaxing, but friendly place and I am sure you won’t feel disappointed if you visit. We loved it and hope to visit again one day, maybe without the dig so we can book the gorgeous treehouse - amazing! Thank you all for welcoming us and looking after us so nicely, just what we needed. Hope the puppies are thriving well Maddie.”

“Fantastic holiday where the staff and accomodation was of a very high standard. They looked after us and the dog with nothing being to much trouble. The meals were superb and being able to have our dog accompany us at all time was so much easier and relaxed. Thank you all at the Fox and Hounds and thank you to Pets Pyjamas for their help and advise when booking, great value and great service.”

“Every element was excellent - service from the well trained staff, the standard of the room, good choice of food. We're were well looked after and any request was dealt with efficiently. Of course Gizmo was welcomed and enjoyed all the attention from both the team and fellow doggie guests.The grounds are such a bonus and Gizmo loves to explore them to the full So pleased to see the hotel full and busy, well done.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? This was our first booking via Pets Pyjamas and it won’t be our last. Great company to use.

“Best dog friendly hotel ever! My husband, Fergus(cockapoo) and I spent three wonderful days at this hotel. We spend a lot of time in hotels due to work and pleasure and this has to be one of the most welcoming if you are travelling with a dog. All of the staff truly like dogs and clearly understand the added pressure for owners travelling with their dogs. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and special. The Team: all of them are amazing and appear to take pride in giving guests a great stay. All at the Fox and Hounds are brilliant but in particular Tom, Stephen and Lindsay stand out heads and shoulders. What struck us most was the “ No problem” approach to everything rather than the” no sorry’ that’s not possible” response that is sadly the norm in a lot of places we have stayed. Attention to detail and the constant unobtrusive eye on their guests was lovely. They clearly monitor that their guests do not have to wait for attention. Food: delicious! Breakfast: a great hot and cold buffet again where the odd random request from other guests was fulfilled without an issue. Dinner: again delicious. Good menu, fresh ingredients and presented beautifully. We highly recommend the duck! Room: we had one of the superior rooms that had been recently modernised. It was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We could not have asked for better. MOST IMPORTANT ! They love dogs ! Your dog is allowed everywhere in the hotel and vast grounds. Wonderful gardens to exercise them in with a scenic river running through it. Lots of dog treats on hand everywhere . Plus towels and bowls. All in all our visit was all that we wanted and exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. We plan to visit more often.”
