“Having started to find our older mattress a little uncomfortable but unwilling to commit to the hassle of finding a new one in times of lockdown, my husband and I decided to try a mattress topper as a short term measure. After a lot of research, I plumped for the Panda topper and was impressed with the price and speed of delivery. I was a bit concerned when I unrolled it, not believing that something so thin could possibly be comfortable, but 12 hours later it was three times as thick and all creases had vanished, so onto the bed it went.
We will admit that my husband and I have completely different sleeping habits and requirements.... my husband sleeps on his back and prefers a firm mattress...he falls asleep quickly and doesn’t move all night.... I on the other hand, like a softer mattress, sleep on my front and side and I will change position constantly through the night. I also get very hot and will wake often during the night tossing off the duvet and then dragging it back when I get cold.... in other words I’m a nightmare to sleep next to!!
So first few nights.... I was not happy.... I felt like the topper was holding me in place.... moving position was an effort as the topper moulded around me and I felt almost trapped as I tossed around. By day three, my husband (who had been a bit sceptical about the topper at the start) admitted that his back was not hurting anymore, that he was sleeping really well and he was really impressed with the topper. I told him I wasn’t liking it and that I was considering sending it back but that I would give it a few more days....
Well, what can I say I am now LOVING my bed.... I think I just needed to get used to a slightly different sleeping sensation... now I don’t want to get up in the morning, my low grade hip and back pain have disappeared and I am sleeping so much better, I love the support and ‘embracing’ softness of the topper. My initial fears about overheating have not been realised and I awake feeling actually rested for the first time in probably years!
We are both completely amazed at how much difference this has made to our sleep and comfort in bed, especially as we have such different sleep styles.
We are both extremely impressed and happy with our Panda topper and relieved that our search for a new mattress has been postponed for possibly a few more years.
