“We have an 8 year old Silentnight Gel mattress with a J.L. microfibre topper. As one sided sleepers we were both experiencing hip pain when waking. The best sleep we experienced was on a Premier Inn Hypnos Comfort mattress. Unfortunately they are about £1400 even on sale. We decided to try and economically replicate the Hypnos by adding the Panda topper to our gel mattress.
It has been 4 nights and 3 of the 4 with no hip pain, so the jury is still out on the longer term use of the Panda topper.
The Panda UK double topper is not a cheap lightweight slab of foam. It is nicely presented in a zipped washable cover. It projects quality. The topper perfectly fits our double bed.
The thick adjustable straps and the bobbled underside, makes it easy to fit and retain. We also covered it with a deep sided mattress protector, so it has become one with our mattress and hasn't moved a millimetre.
We find it comfortable and supportive, although perhaps not quite as cosy as our former quilted J.L. microfibre topper.
We chose the Panda topper because of the top reviews, particularly with regard to aches and pains. Here's hoping it lives up to its reputation and the sore hips are no more. This was the main reason for our purchase.
The ordering and delivery was efficient and speedy apart from the grumpy DPD driver.
We left it an extra day out of the bedroom to assist with degassing. The foam material odour has virtually gone.
Overall, it has to date been a good buying experience. However, it is still only 4 days since first use. We will use the 30 day free return policy if it doesn't fully deliver. Although should it be necessary, how we would package this initially shrink wrapped topper would be difficult.”
