“Had this fitted to my MX5 recently and I’ve got to say, the results are spot on. It gives off a lovely, deep rumble as you work through the gears—just the right amount of growl to turn heads without going full boy racer. Think refined aggression, not hooliganism. Bit of a faff getting it fitted though—tried a national chain and they wouldn’t touch it, citing the usual “we don’t fit customer-supplied parts” spiel. Thankfully, I found a local independent who was more than happy to get it sorted, no dramas. One last thing: if you're going down the aftermarket route, don’t forget to give your insurer a heads-up. It’s a non-standard mod, even if it doesn’t affect performance. Mine logged it at no extra cost, but it’s best to stay in their good books. Highly recommended upgrade for anyone who wants a bit more character in their drive without upsetting the neighbours.”

“Was apprehensive on which back box to purchase, as didn't want an exhaust too load, but sound better than stock. So I ended up taking the plunge, Arrived very well packaged, lovely condition with good welds, I cut off the old bolts, as was corroded, in all from on ramp, to off ramp, under an hour. On road test, the sound levels with roof up and or down, was just what I was looking for. Only thing I would say, is the exhaust ends could be a bit longer? As does hide, the lovely looking exhaust ends. Overall its a yes from Me.”

“Ordered this on a Tuesday and it was with me Wednesday Morning. Fitting is a breeze, its just getting a 10 Year Old back box off that caused the grief. The Original Mazda unit has captive bolts so you will need to source a couple of M10 38-40mm Bolts. I ordered a separate Genuine Gasket but there was no need as one is included with the Silencer. It is an IL Motorsport unit and beautifully made. The tone from it is heavier than the original but most welcome, even my wife likes it and she was very suspect when I ordered it. All round superb, would encourage anyone to buy it. Thanks to the team at MX5Parts.”

“Decided to go for this silencer to bring a bit of sound to my recently purchased MX-5.Was a bit hesitant about getting it with some of the reviews but went for it in the end. Ordered it on Tuesday and it arrived on Thursday all shiny and nice.Getting the factory silencer off was not easy!! (one nut spun in the socket). Ended up using my angle grinder to to get through the welded bolt and hard to get it off two of the hangers but came off in the end. Fitting the new one was surprisingly easy! (20 mins)Took the advice of getting the after market gasket but it actually came with one but no bolts, washers or nuts so you'll need to get them.Yes, it is a bit boomy but not to much. I'm sure it will quieten down in time but then again, I do like a bit of boom!Overall, well made and looks great. Well worth it.”
