“I've had this fitted by the guys at MX5 parts this morning, and for all of those reviewers that have said it doesn't make much difference to the sound, did you know Specsavers now do hearing tests??Not only does it look amazing with polished stainless steel hanging under the back of your car, but the warmer the car gets the more amazing the sound, this has transformed my already evolving standard car thanks to the guys. They are always friendly, professional and know what they are talking about, and haven't steered me wrong yet, good value and a great product as always, cant wipe the smile off my face..”

“So I have had this exhaust for about 2 weeks on the NC now, first impressions when you get it are great, really solid looking and super shiny. Fitting was easy really the hardest part was getting the old exhaust off but took about 10 mins to get this on once the old was off.Important part - The sound. When I turned the ignition for the first time I was some what surprised at how quiet it was, looking at the diameter of the pipes you would have thought that this would be a lot louder. It seems to have gotten a slightly nicer sound as it has been run in, it is quite loud between 1.5 - 4rpm having some nice splits and pops at low RPM. BUT seems to be almost silent above 4000 rpm.Why is this? I don't know. Anyway its a nice exhaust if you are looking for a slightly more sporty note to your car, looks great too. Adam”

“Standard Back Box has forward facing Studs which needed removing as the Nuts were corroded. Used Air Belt Sander to remove base of Studs and knocked through with Punch leaving old Back Box in a condition for reuse. Fitted new Box with Stainless Steel M10 Bolts (40mm thread length) and Stainless Steel Nuts, Washers and Split Washers. Don't forget the Exhaust Gasket (Part 256282). In all took about an hour with two of us. Box is well made and fitted very well considering its After Market. Its not noisy just a nice deep broomy rumble. Performance also seem to have improved. Looks the part also with the Dual 90mm Exits.”

“This a high quality item. An absolute bargain as well. Fitted in 30 minutes. Just remember to order the gasket at the same time. You will also need replacement nuts and bolts as the original bolts are welded onto the silencer flange!!Sounds much better than the stock exhaust. I'm off to order the centre section now...”

“I bought this exhaust 2nd hand from someone who had bought it here. It was in an IL Motorsport box when received. Whilst the fit, construction and looks are fantastic I do not agree about the sound. It drones and above 44500rpm you hardly know it`s fitted. The sound is not as good as the Racing Beat exhaust I had fitted to my MK2 a few years back. It sounds much deeper but highly muffled. The Racing Beat pipe had a clearer tone and much more pleasing to the ear and made the car sound how it should. Had I heard this pipe before buying I would have gone for another Racing Beat pipe.”

“I have been looking at this exhaust for many months now thinking should I? Purchased Tues arrived Wed great service as usual....... Fitted today and even tho its January I have had the roof off to listen to the difference. Sounds great nice deep sound but can be driven at normal speeds/revs without the roar. Having owned a few mk1s then a couple of mk3s ive always been a little disappointed with the sound of the mk3 compared to the 1. It now sounds as I beleive it should, deep sound with a few pops!! not boy racer tho..... Get the HR springs aswel so it looks as it should..... Not noticed any performance difference but didnt buy for this reason as its just the back box. Fitted to 2.0L sport 07 plate.”

“nice sound from this exhaust. it has a bit more broomy sound but not too boomy or poppy. install is really easy, everyone can do it. Looks alot better than the original one. Buy this one if your out for looks and a bit more sound. (Mine did not have IL logo on it as someone else stated)”
