Double crimped woven stainless steel mesh gives the grille extra strength - A perfectly snug fit every time - It will not damage the paint-work during fitting, nor will it rattle & chafe the paint-work as the car is being driven, because it has an all round 'paint-work friendly' vulcanized rubber edging - The Grille is held firmly in place by means of concealed stainless steel brackets and can be fitted comfortably within 30 minutes - The Stainless Steel rim and the mesh are electro-polished to give a permanent lustre.

“Arrived very quickly as usual from MX5 Parts. Seems like a well made quality piece, which I guess it should be for the price. I found it pretty easy to fit by following the supplied instructions and just working methodically. Working in workshop gloves protects the back of the hands when you are reaching behind panels to fit the nuts and washers to the bolts. One tip, I found it much easier to locate the nut and washer, particularly to the top brackets, by using masking tape to hold the weight of the brackets, bolt and washer in place while you reach up and start picking up the thread on the nut. About 30 minutes to fit. Looks good and serves a purpose. So far no rattles and no complaints.”

“REALLY PLEASED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE LOCKWOOD MESH. NO- BRAINER ON THE FITTING EITHER [ HAVING EXPERIENCED PUTTING MANY IKEA FURNITURE TOGETHER ] READ INTRUCTIONS TEN TIMES FIRST. BUT DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE WHEN ORDERING AND NOT READ THE SMALL DETAIL OF DIFFERENT GRILL SIZES FOR MK1,2,2.5.... BRAINLESS”

“Forget the rest this is the best! Thought this was going to be a pig to fit - 40mins! This really sets off the front of my MK1. Like other people said Washing up liquid is a must to slide in the top brackets - works a treat. It is really well made and should last for years to come. Got to give it five stars.”

“Speedy, next day delivery (once in stock). As a complete novice it took me about an hour and a quarter to fit this. Fairly easy and the instructions are pretty detailed (with both words and pictures). The only assistance I needed from my husband was telling me where he kept the spanners! I had a few doubts how it would look as my car is silver - but it looks great. When fitting - the middle upper hole on my car had no screw to remove. And the other two seemed to screw out as normal screws (the instructions said they might need levering). Once I'd removed them, I cut off the bits at the back from the surrounding plugs (lugs? not sure of technical term?) so I could fit the bolt through the black plastic plugs. This seemed to work well. On the lower black plastic plugs, I couldn't squeeze them out so just levered out with a screwdriver (protecting the paintwork with some cardboard)- this seemed to work out ok too. They didn't break (and you don't use them again anyway).I followed the tip about using washing up liquid for lubrication and it slid into place without too much persuasion. It looks really smart, so I'd recommend to anyone (even the novice like me).”

“Very fiddly to fit and took most of the day with several tea breaks and moments of contemplation inbetween. A ramp or a pit would make this job far, far easier as would the correct tools. The grille quality warrants the high price as it does look very smart and will hopefully ware well. I'm pleased now its on, but it was rather a faff. MX5 parts excellent to deal with once again.”

“DELIVERY WAS EXCELLENT ORDERED ONE DAY ARRIVED THE NEXT LOOKS AS IF ITS A GOOD SOLID PRODUCT COMPARED TO ONES IVE BOUGHT FOR PAST MX5's AND ALSO COMES WITH A GOOD FITTING KIT TO MAKE IT NICE AND SECURE TO THE CAR AS I HAVE FITTED GRILLS TO PREVIOUS CARS THIS WAS NO PROBLEM APROX 15 MIN THE ONLY PROBLEM I ENCOUNTERED WAS THE PLASTIC FIXINGS ON THE CAR 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 THEY ARE HARD TO SHIFT I FOUND IT EASIER TO GET A SHARP WOOD CHISEL PLACE IT NEXT TO THE PLASTIC BOLT AND GIVE IT A HIT WITH A HAMMER THEY JUST SHEAR OF AND MAKE THE JOB A LOT EASIER FIT ALL 6 BRACKETS THEN INSTALL THE GRILL ITS A LOT EASIER THAN FIDDLING ABOUT SHARP IMPLEMENTS THAT COULD SLIP AND CAUSE PAINT DAMAGE OVER THE MOON WITH MINE AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE THINKING OF BUYING A GRILL”
