Despite it stared it would fit it never i should have checked to insure it would however this was only the start… the delivery kept getting delayed and no one would help. I didn’t know if i was going to receive the item. Eventually when it had arrived the box had been opened by someone and left in a state absolutely awful. I would hope mx5 parts to change the courier they use as the service was terrible i will not be buying from here again

I’ve ordered a few parts from this company and they have been very helpful particularly in making sure that I’m ordering the correct part for a Mazda MK1 even phoning to check that the part I’ve ordered is correct. I nearly ordered a part for a right hand car and they phoned to advise me of my mistake. Extremely happy with their care for their customers.

For 90 quid, I can't grumble. Got mine through its MOT without issue and fit fine. It was also delivered in less than 24 hours

After reading the reviews I have decided not to purchase this catalytic converter. I am at a loss to understand why MX5PARTS are still selling what appears to be a very inferior part.

The original cat on the car lasted 19 years, this version I bought 2 years ago now needs replacing. Equal to the original? I have my doubts . . .

I purchased this item to replace the original cat which lasted 19 years and 94,000 miles. This one managed 3,100 miles and three years. When I was told my car had failed the mot on emissions, I then wasted even more money on diagnostic tests as I could not believe the catalyst could have failed after hardly being used. It had. I phoned mx5 parts to discuss my disappointment, and I was advised that three years (irrespective of the low mileage) was about right. This item is described as \'high quality\', which is misleading and the description needs to be amended. I have been given free delivery on the replacement I have had to purchase, but this is not really good enough. If something is sold as high quality it should better than this.Editors Note: Sorry to hear that you have experienced problems with this item. Generally speaking, cats on their own don\'t just fail, something will have caused it. This link is to a US exhaust manufacturer. If you scroll to the bottom of the page and click where it says Problem, they list some of the most common causes - http://www.bobsmuffler.comThe reason OEM cats last much longer is that they are produced with much bigger monoliths and can withstand running problems for much longer, hence why they are so much more expensive. Aftermarket manufacturers use smaller ones as they are more cost effective to produce. They are normally fine, providing the car is running perfectly. The question must be asked, if the original OEM cat needed replacing, and that replacement has also failed, it would point towards something causing it to happen.
