We are pleased to now offer the ledgendary WestCo sealed battery for the MX 5 (and Eunos). This battery is superior to the original Panasonic unit. It uses the very latest absorbed glass mat technology, this advanced battery has no free liquid electrolyte - unlike the Panasonic "wet gel" battery. “I have used these WESTCO batteries on my MIATA and BMW motorcycles for 30+ years. Perfect fit, never any oxydation issues and if you maintain them with an OPTIMATE charger, they last even if you do not use your car for very long storage periods (years). Nothing wrong with MX5PARTS either as you can find many OEM MAZDA parts. If you stay below 150e per order, there is no import duty (....... BREXIT). So I ordered my battery as with discount it was below the 150e limit. The pb is with the weight and special Dangerous Goods Regs, it goes by DHL not regular post mail, and there DHL in addition to the shipping charges you pay to MX5PARTS charges you VAT (fair), no Duty (normal) but 20+ euros of processing fees ( more than the actual shipping charge. If the battery had not but on special promotion, they would have added duty!!! At the end I paid 61 euros of added charges on top of shipping for a 100+ euros battery. Not MX5PARTS fault, but at the end same or higher price than to buy it without discount from their German friends. For OEM parts on Back Orders, it is simpler to get them from Japan, stupid BREXIT.”

“The battary was received in a heavy box delivered grumpily by the courier with an alternator belt packed on the top, as ordered. The battery was checked for charge and found to be full, so was put on the car without delay and has works satisfactorily for some days, including the MOT test. The test of a battery is how long it lasts, so for most things it is too early to tell, but arriving on time and fully charged is a damn good start. As for the alternator belt, I will only know when the exiting one snaps, (like the last one fitted), or it gets changed at service time.”

“Disppointed . needed cahrging when it arrived. You must use a very slow rate motorcycle style cahrge and chare it up weekly. A real nuisance.”

“Bought to replace 16 year old original battery. Same use as the old one: intermittent, disconnect after every journey (pretty long ones) but it just struggles to hold charge. Great door stop at the ripe old age of 3 years”
