About Mooncup:

Mooncup began with a clear goal: to give people a healthier, sustainable way to manage their periods.

Back in 2002, we launched the world’s first medical-grade silicone menstrual cup, pioneering a movement that put health and the planet first. We saw an industry where profit came before people, ingredients were hidden, and plastics reigned, so we challenged the status quo.

Now, we're on a mission to become the world’s biggest sustainable period care brand. We’ve just launched Mooncup period pads into Sainsbury’s, Boots, Holland & Barrett and Look Fantastic. We’re also partnering with workplaces, gyms and hotels (like Canva, Danone, Third Space, Gymshark and Claridge’s) to offer free period care in bathrooms.

We use only science-backed, body-safe ingredients because your period products should work with your body, not against it.

This was so handy. And way cheaper than buying alot of sanitary towels/tampons. Wasn't uncomfortable at all. Would definently recommend this.

For a person who is post two births and 30 plus of age this is not too bad. I find silicone too thick, I used it in my past two periods. I feel it most of the time, like my body is aware of the object itself. Possibly because of its thickness I find it a bit uncomfortable. I'm happy with its capacity, no worries over night with my flow besides first two days which are always heavier. I like its shape and the fact that you can trim the stick that you pull it out with. I think I'd recommend it, will definitely give it more time to get used to it.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful review - we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It’s really great to hear the Mooncup’s capacity and shape are working well for you, especially for those heavier days. And yes - that trimmable stem is such a small thing, but it really can make all the difference! We totally get that it can take a little time for your body to adjust, especially after birth and as things shift over time. I’m really glad to hear you’re sticking with it - and if there’s anything you ever want to chat about or suggest, I’m all ears. - Megan, Mooncup Team
I read another review that was totally relatable and decided to give it a go. After giving Birth Tampons were extremely uncomfortable for me and I can't deal with the unreliability of pads, the bunching is the worst and I'm not going back onto contraception to stop my periods. So that left the mooncup. I looked at competitors first as a cheaper option, as I wasn't sure I would get on with it, but many of their reviewers said they were nothing compared to the OG. So, here I am and it's amazing. I Watched a couple of the videos on YouTube which were incredibly helpful and had no trouble with insertion. 1st removal was interesting but after a few position adjustments I found the knack that works for me. 3 days in and I don't even notice it apart from the Stem, which now I've gotten used to the removal, I will trim down. Clean up is not a quick Job, and would Definitely not do this in a public loo, but it is less of a faff than fumbling with wrappers etc. But honestly, this is genuinely the best solution and I'm happy to have a free draw now that tampons and pads are a thing of the past. Really wish I got this sooner.

Thank you so much for this fantastic review - I’m Megan, Brand Manager here at Mooncup, and I just wanted to say how much we loved reading your story. It’s amazing to hear how relatable reviews helped you take the plunge - and even more amazing to hear that the Mooncup has been such a good fit (pun slightly intended!). We know that post-birth period care can be a whole new chapter, and we’re really proud to be part of your new routine - no more bunching pads or tampon wrappers, just one product that works. Also, we couldn’t agree more - that first removal moment is definitely a learning curve, but sounds like you’ve nailed it already! And yes, trimming the stem once you’ve got your groove makes all the difference. We’re so happy you gave it a go - and even happier it’s made such a difference. Here’s to a newly decluttered drawer and a future of simpler, more sustainable periods.
My first mooncup fell out after 6 years of use and so I moved to other brands. I was told by that brand to get a smaller one, as they felt the mooncup was probably too big and didn't cause suction. I ended up with a very hard cup, as I'd bought one that was for doing sports, and it caused cramps non stop. I then purchased a much softer one, and that fell out on its first use. So this tells me that my first mooncup fell out because I had grown older and needed a bigger one. Here I am with a larger mooncup. It fits well and doesn't cause discomfort. I am now back to how I initially felt with my first mooncup: confident that it won't fall out while on the toilet, comfortable and cramp free.

Bought to replace my old cup which I’ve been using for years. Saving environment from tonnes of pads and tampons: that’s what I like the most.

Wonderful product. I've used the same mooncup for 7 years and it's soooo much better than a tampon. It had life left in it but unfortunately I put it back in on auto-pilot when I'd come off my period and didn't realise, and I literally can't feel it so left it in for 6 days by mistake which was absolutely rank so I chucked it. Obviously not a recommended situation to get yourself in but luckily I was fine and I will not be doing it again. From day one I have found this easy to insert and remove and can't feel it. I'm very heavy and this lets me have more of a life than a tampon would. I also prefer when I get lighter that I don't have to take out a dry tampon and feel like I've wasted one, no drama with the cup. I love having a no waste period. I recently tried a menstrual disc as the capacity is even higher but I found it near impossible to get in and if I squatted in normal life the whole thing would empty which was pretty horrific, I perservered for 3 cycles but eventually gave up and went back to the trusty mooncup which was a breath of fresh air. Nothing like that has ever happened with the mooncup, it stays put until I take it out. I love it.

Due to the new post brexit reality, buying your mooncup has meant losing the 40 euros it is worth. It has arrived through customs in my country and receiving it meant paying another 690 euros, which I can't afford. So I have lost 40 euros. I have been buying mooncup all my menstruating life... that is over and I am very sorry.
