About Mooncup:

Mooncup began with a clear goal: to give people a healthier, sustainable way to manage their periods.

Back in 2002, we launched the world’s first medical-grade silicone menstrual cup, pioneering a movement that put health and the planet first. We saw an industry where profit came before people, ingredients were hidden, and plastics reigned, so we challenged the status quo.

Now, we're on a mission to become the world’s biggest sustainable period care brand. We’ve just launched Mooncup period pads into Sainsbury’s, Boots, Holland & Barrett and Look Fantastic. We’re also partnering with workplaces, gyms and hotels (like Canva, Danone, Third Space, Gymshark and Claridge’s) to offer free period care in bathrooms.

We use only science-backed, body-safe ingredients because your period products should work with your body, not against it.

This menstrual cup is very soft and flexible and a great alternative to tampons. It comes with a cotton drawstring storage bag which is great for when not in use.It comes with very good illustrated instructions.

Mooncup Beginner Menstrual Cup Super Soft Easy Insertion Size APrice £23.75I’ve had an interest in these since they first came onto the market, but never took the plunge to try. I have been using this the past couple of days after watching loads of tips and tricks videos. It was pretty tricky to get in at first but with some patience and perseverance I did manage, it was quick tricky to master and was going to give up. Getting it out was a whole other challenge and was very messy but I’m sure with more practice I will get there. Overall it is quite costly but if you put that against pads, tampons etc over the year it works out so much cheaper in the long run and is obviously better for the environment. I haven’t felt comfortable enough to only use this option but I’m sure the more i practice and get into a routine with it I will.

My wife had used a load of these over the years and swears by them. She finds all these cups better for her than pads or tampons. This one, being a named branded one, perhaps had promise - and it does work well by the way - but is it really different to the rest overall?Quality is ok, there are some rough bits around the edges which we didn’t expect from a branded one, and yet it goes in and works really well for her. Mind you, she’s had plenty of practice to compare this to.Not cheap at nearly twenty four quid, but worth it I suppose when you look at some real cheap versions.Overall not cheap and perhaps not perfect for everyone in every way, but in honesty it’s actually among the better ones we’ve had.

I want to start my review by saying that I’ve used a mooncup for around 25 years now and I’m very in favour of this type of product! On the odd occasion while we’ve been travelling and my period appeared with out being due I’ve had to fall back on tampons and hated the entire experience.I have used of the “original” firmer silicone type since I discovered cups and this new version is noticeable softer and more pliable and easy to insert.Size the A is pretty much identical to my existing mooncup which gets a boil sterilise before and during use. There is a nack to inserting and getting them to sit right, as well as for removal but once you have got the nack you won’t go back to tampons! In terms of useage - depending on your flow you will need to empty fairly regularly at the start to prevent any leaks and after a few days you can get away with going for longer amount of time before emtpying and cleaning etc.As I said, there is a nack needed but once you get used to using a cup you won’t ever go back!!

I’m so impressed with the mooncup! Looking at it I really didn’t think it could be very comfortable but from the first wear I couldn’t feel it once inserted! It’s so easy to use, works well, and is obviously so much better for the environment. I’m still a bit unsure of cleaning it in public but I’ve survived two circles with it so far and I’m sure I’ll get better at it over time. Recommending to all my girl friends!
