“Easy to purchase and very good value. Unfortunately I had to make a claim. I had to wait around 4 weeks for the claim to be assessed, but I was kept informed of delays due to “a large volume of claims”. Payment was made very quickly thereafter. Overall very happy and so glad I took out this cover!”

“I took out car hire insurance with Carhireexcess for last October. I hired a car at Centauro in Mallorca. When they tried to sell me their excess insurance I showed them my cover note, no argument they accepted without question. I didn't have to claim so cannot comment on that.”

“The policy did what we needed - we did have a claim (first time we damaged a hire car!) and although it took a long time to sort out, we go there in the end. We didn't recover quite all our costs (and it took 4 months!) but it worked.”

“Easy to take out covered all the excesses on the car hire. To cover same with car hire company almost £400 rather than the £12 ish I paid for this policy.”
