Rónán Ó Snodaigh's Whipper Tipper Want to play like Rónán Ó Snodaigh from the legendary band Kíla? Designed by one of the best bodhrán players on the planet, Rónán himself, the Whipper Tipper bodhrán tipper's light weight is perfect for "whipping" the bodhrán helping you achieve that signature Ó Snodaigh sound. Available exclusively from McNeela Music, the Whipper Tipper is made from an old fiddle bow and retains the original bow curve or camber. It also features a drumstick head and a rubber grip* for a comfortable hold. The bodhrán tipper is approximately 14 inches in length.
Please note: because the original bows are various sizes, the tippers can sometimes vary slightly in length. “I purchased this whipper for my 18" in May, and it changed my concept of the way to play a bodhran. It's fast, reactive, versatile. It's also much kinder to the wrist than a traditional tipper. It has become my favorite implement among many. And it led me to create a few other specialty whippers to fill in gaps I never knew I had. I am so pleased that I purchased it.”

“This well-made tipper isn't for beginners, since its light weight makes it difficult to do rolls. But with practice, I'm sure anyone can use it to good effect. Listening to Ronal O Snodaigh using this tipper was enough to convince me. I am interested in learning more high-hand technique and this tipper is just the ticket. I'm not conversant in it yet, but hope that in time I'll be rattling off high-hand beatings. I recommend this tipper. Tom Seymour”
