Rónán Ó Snodaigh's Whipper Tipper Want to play like Rónán Ó Snodaigh from the legendary band Kíla? Designed by one of the best bodhrán players on the planet, Rónán himself, the Whipper Tipper bodhrán tipper's light weight is perfect for "whipping" the bodhrán helping you achieve that signature Ó Snodaigh sound. Available exclusively from McNeela Music, the Whipper Tipper is made from an old fiddle bow and retains the original bow curve or camber. It also features a drumstick head and a rubber grip* for a comfortable hold. The bodhrán tipper is approximately 14 inches in length.
Please note: because the original bows are various sizes, the tippers can sometimes vary slightly in length. “The tipper arrived promptly and is well made. I haven’t had much practice with it yet, so can’t honestly say how well I can play with it yet!! It des certainly feel very different to my existing, shorter tippers…..”

“Being relatively new to drumming I found this tipper to be almost impossible to use. It kept rotating while I played and therefore the distance from the end to the drum would change. I finally remove a section of tape and made some indentations where my fingers go. It doesn’t rotate and is much easier to play!”

“Great service Recently purchased a bodhran tipper. At the time of purchase McNeela estimated ship time from Dublin to NC, USA at 10 days - which I doubted. I was amazed when the item arrived 7 days after receiving notice of it having shipped. The item was exactly as described and I am very pleased with it. Will shop again here in the future.”

“Interesting, but not easy to use! I watched enough videos of Ronan doing amazing things with this tipper that I decided that I wanted to have a try. Unfortunately this tipper has a bit of a learning curve that I did not experience with other kinds. First of all, the particular tipper that i received is much too long to be "whipped" effectively, and the slight bow in it does not make playing any easier. I went back to watch some of Ronan's videos and saw that his version (which I'm assuming he made himself) is definitely a few inches shorter than the one I recieved. Maybe I have not given it enough time, but I would caution those who might think that this tipper is imbued with Ronan's skill and grace......”
