Rónán Ó Snodaigh's Whipper Tipper   Want to play like Rónán Ó Snodaigh from the legendary band Kíla? Designed by one of the best bodhrán players on the planet, Rónán himself, the Whipper Tipper bodhrán tipper's light weight is perfect for "whipping" the bodhrán helping you achieve that signature Ó Snodaigh sound. Available exclusively from McNeela Music, the Whipper Tipper is made from an old fiddle bow and retains the original bow curve or camber. It also features a drumstick head and a rubber grip* for a comfortable hold. The bodhrán tipper is approximately 14 inches in length.
Please note: because the original bows are various sizes, the tippers can sometimes vary slightly in length.  If you're looking to buy a bodhrán tipper, you've come to the right place as we have a large variety to choose from. Feel free to come into our store located in Baldoyle, Dublin 13 - we'd be happy to help!   *We are currently out of black tubing so grip colour will vary ESTIMATED SHIPPING TIMES:  All orders placed before 12pm are shipped the same day. 3.5 *'s Got me whipped...for now... The whipper tipper is what it says it is... a longer tipper, as used by Ronan ... if that's not YOUR style ... you'll have a bit of adjustment time... so far I've found it a tad unwieldy especially with my 16" bodhran ... a bit easier with an 18 which is what Ronan uses... so like everything else... it's not magic... it's music ... it'll take more work and practice for me to get comfortable with it ... but like everything so far from McNeela.. it is what they say it is.. arrived on time(maybe early?) good solid piece of rosewood. So I give it a 3.5 out of 5 as it's longer than I'm used to...but it's as long as he said it was... so most of the problems are from MY end...IF I can't get used to it.. I may trim off a few inches, and use it like I'm used to... I'll let you know in a few months...

Nice size Tipper, would recommend, good shape especially for fast playing, no slippage from the grip, on a personnel preference note found it a little light, so replaced the plastic tip with a felt polishing tip which has given it a little more weight and a softer fuller sound, i have two go to tippers now next to me most of the time and this is one of them.

Fantastic. Fairly New to the bodhran and finding snodaigh's tipper far better to learn with than the straight sticks and beater I had before. Thoroughly reccomend these tippers

This tipper is light and can really move. I am still trying to get use to the plastic tip. I have a tenancy to drag it on the back stroke.

Im no bodhran pro, actually quite new, but I really enjoy the tipper, seems to be made of top notch materials and is really fun to play. Quick shipping to the states too. thanks!

Fine craftsmanship on this tipper, just adjusted my playing style to top hand and my wrist is happier for it. Takes a while to get used to especially with something this long (and curved) but after a week of playing it really started to click and now it’s my preferred tipper.
