McNeela Bodhrán Holding Strap A bodhrán strap which allows you more freedom of movement when playing the bodhrán. The weight is taken on the shoulder instead of the hand. The same as a guitar strap, it is connected to the bodhrán using fittings that replace two of the retaining screws that hold the cross-bar in place. Fittings supplied along with wood filler for making the holes smaller so the strap fits securely. “The strap is decent enough by itself. It's just a general instrument strap and included fittings. Unfortunately, the screws that came with the fittings are thinner than the ones they're meant to replace in my (McNeela) bodhrán, but it shouldn't be too hard to get something suitable so I can use it.”

“I bought the strap for my 16 inch bodhran and attached it. I found it works really well with a scarf tied round it and looped over my playing shoulder. The bodhran holds firm then and I can play and move freely, which is great for playing in public. I got the idea from Ronan O Snodaigh here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVLNFGVF59g Brilliant, Mr Snodaigh! The strap is easy to attach with the screws and buttons provided but you must plug the holes with matches first. There's something beautiful about that! The strap is great. 5 stars. The bodhran, it has to be said, is amazing!”

“Would fit small person but I am not small so I had to extend the strap. The screws supplied were not long enough to hold so my husband used firmer screws. I find its ok but cannot obtain enough pressure on the skin, the Bodhran tends to push to the right. It's better than nothing but only just. Sorry my feedback is so negative but people are not all the same, maybe you would find it ok.”
