The Celtic hounds were a breed of dogs in Gaelic Ireland described in Irish legend. Celtic Hounds can be found in Celtic jewellery designs and paintings as far back as the 17th century. Celtic Hounds symbolise hunting, healing, and the Otherworld in Celtic legends. Hounds were the traditional guardian animals of roads and crossways and are believed to protect and guide the lost souls of the Otherworld.
This is a great quality 12" Celtic bodhrán which features a very attractive screen printed Celtic design and is made by McNeela Music. A wonderful Irish bodhrán.

“Gave as gift to great-niece Catriona for 7th birthday. Good size for beginner and pretty design. She had requested a"purple recorder" but since i don't consider a recorder a "real instrument" I got her a beginner Irish whistle and the bodhran instead. She is thrilled and her father is helping her find instruction. Thank you”
