Clarke Black Whistle in the key of D
One-piece key of D tapered-bore whistle. The tapered bore gives these instruments a very responsive and solid tone, very noticeable particularly on bottom notes.
You might also like the stunning deep green Clarke Celtic Whistle also in the key of D.

Very happy customer. I bought a second hand Wren Concertina and Clarke Black Whistle in the key of D. Both items were well packaged and made the trip from Ireland to the USA in excellent condition. Both instruments are well made and sound great. I had a question about the shipping and was given a response in just a couple of minutes by Vivien, one McNeela's kind customer service staff. The next time I need a musical instrument I'll be looking at McNeela's first. Very satisfied!

Lovely Its a nice little whistle. Its not too loud (even the really high notes) and has a very sweet sound. Shipping (to the US) was quite fast. I was honestly surprised by how soon it arrived. Overall no complaints.

Beautiful tone I'd heard about Clarkes reputation. But was so surprised firstly that it was a reeded whistle. This makes the tone so soft and pure. Beautiful to play. Takes a little bit more puff than a regular tin whistle but practice will sort that.

I bought two. The first thing that impressed me was the website. I bought two tin whistles, one original in black and a Celtic themed one. I have no idea how to play but after years of watching star trek captain Jean Luke Picard play his, I did research that led me to this company. I hope to learn. I got the Celtic one for my daughter. She loves it, and despite the c19 issue she got it the day after her birthday. I still think that's ok timing. Maybe I'll learn well enough with some youtube instruction, time and she has music class. Thanks, all of you at Mcneela Music.

I love this whistle, have been playing it since March. I usually prefer to play Bb and low D as most high Ds are to loud/piercing /shrill for me. This allows me to play high D with the volume down. Takes a bit more breath than other whistles and is a quiet indoor whistle. Beautiful sound, if high D usually agitates you, buy this one. Clear sound, a bit melancholy. Old fashion charm.
