McNeela Instruments has the pleasure in introducing the re-designed and improved Soprano D Whistle with an aluminium body by Tony Dixon Manufacturing. Back by popular demand, this whistle marks the return of an old friend now renamed.
The DX006 incorporates the internal tuning slide on an aluminium bodied high D. The ABS head tunes on a solid nickel slide, fixed in the aluminium body, resulting in a solid, bright tone, an exciting addition to the Dixon family of Whistles.

“Not too impressed with this whistle. The tone is often squeaky, and I can't figure out why. I have another TD whistle that is easy to play, but this one is just not inviting. I find it easier to play my low D whistle than this one. I keep trying to like this whistle, but I know I never will. Time to post it for sale.”

“I purchased this whistle for a different tone than my brass or plastic ones. I find this Tony Dixon whistle requires more breath than my other TD. The tone is nice, but so far I don’t enjoy playing it, but I keep trying.”

“When the whistle arrived it had a loose mouthpiece, I could feel moving when I tried to play. I accept that this can happen to any item purchased anywhere. However, I thought they may have accepted my e-mail explaining the problem. Instead, they asked me to make a video to prove that what I was saying was true! I sent the video and received a reply saying it appears that I was right.!! Well really. I was then asked to return it but they wanted photos of my post office receipts, before reimbursing me for the P&P. They then, without asking if I would like a refund or another whistle, simply refunded the cost of the whistle. I did not send photos of postage receipts, after the bother of making a video. They must have known the cost because they posted the whistle to me one week earlier and my stamps were there to be seen on the package. I was not reimbursed for the cost of sending the faulty whistle back! I simply wanted the whistle replaced, but was not offered the choice. I also didn't expect to have to make a video and send photos. I paid for the whistle up front and in good faith and feel they should have done the same with me.”
