McNeela Instruments has the pleasure in introducing the re-designed and improved Soprano D Whistle with an aluminium body by Tony Dixon Manufacturing. Back by popular demand, this whistle marks the return of an old friend now renamed.
The DX006 incorporates the internal tuning slide on an aluminium bodied high D. The ABS head tunes on a solid nickel slide, fixed in the aluminium body, resulting in a solid, bright tone, an exciting addition to the Dixon family of Whistles.

“I played this whistle for the first time in a session today. It is taking a little while to get used to, but it plays well, and people thought it sounded good! I had trouble knowing if I was in tune or not - in the past people used to tune their fiddles to me! The hole spacing is slightly different from my old Generation, so my fingers aren't quite there yet, but they will be. I'm pleased with the sound overall. The C natural is much stronger than on the Generation, which is nice. I'm pleased overall.”

“Great whistle- great service - great price! I live on the west coast of Canada couldn't find a decent tin whistle here or Vancouver so I ordered this it arrived timely. Has great sound and a wonderful investment as I had a $25 whistle before this one highly recommended and would definitely order from McNeil again thank you so much!”

“Wonderful Instrument I am a flautist who decided to play in a band that plays Irish music. (My friend owns a club and needed a band.) i ordered this Irish whistle because I wanted to upgrade from the standard, low-cost green whistle I had. This one has beautiful resonance. I am enjoying learning more about traditional Irish whistle playing because the instrument is well-made and responds nicely.”
