I was disappointed, that my complaint was not dealt with regarding valve noise which was limited to at least six keys on the left hand side of the concertina while playing the instrument, and that the concertina was sent back to me without prior contact, as stated in the Return product policy, and declared as being O.K. I returned the instrument for refund which was done quickly.

Arrived west coast USA in 10 days well packed and as advertised with no instructions, fingering diagram, cleaning rod or other accessories. Nice foam lined plastic case. Plays all first octave notes in tune with slide all the way in at 70 degrees and 400 ft MSL. Will be flat at cooler temps or higher altitude. Second octave 20 cents sharp on all notes. Had difficulty adjusting cork as wooden plug was apparently glued in by the finish drying. The finish has numerous small bumps as if dust had settled while wet. All holes including embouchure had sharp edge making it uncomfortable to play until they where lightly smoothed. The bottom E hole was bored off center as if offset for a left hand low player. Cork joints seem to be reasonably well made. I have built and played various international wooden folk flutes for many years and will easily make this an acceptably playable flute. My concern is I paid for a better quality student flute...not a kit. Some buyers will not get good results if the quality control on theirs is as poor as mine. Well designed but poor attention to detail is disappointing.

Sounds Nice but one of the joints was not a perfect fit. I don't have enough flute experience to give much critique. The only thing I will mention is that one of the joints is not snug enough so it become loose while playing every few minutes and then the sound changes (or stops altogether). A little be of electrical tape fixed it for a while but I'm going to reach out to see if they have a better fix.

I also purchased a fiddle bow tipper and the book bodhran basics and did not receive them.

Still not very satisfied with Customer Service’s explanation that McNeela’s luthier made a “mistake” when he shipped me an off-brand A-style mandolin, instead of their own McNeela-made F-style mandolin.... Have reached a compromise with McNeela, wherein they are offering a 25 percent discount on my purchase of their in-house F-style mandolin [ in for a Penny, in for a pound ], but so far McNneela Music has declined to answer when, if ever, I might be able to use this discount, for a product for which my VISA payment was sent, and processed, on the same date in No. 2020.

This is the 3rd time I have sent this in. No. I did not get what I ordered. I got a cheap China made mandolin. Not what I ordered. Cost to much to send it back. Tired of trying. Takes to long. I ordered in November. Still don't have what I ordered. I'm done with mcneela.

Every forum out there warns you against buying a cheap concertina. That is the Sparrow. Button stuck out of the box. Cross-threaded thumb screw so can’t adjust strap on one side. Clunky uneven reed action. Makes a rather attractive paper weight with a nice case. That’s it. Not for playing. Do not recommend. I think the company is fine and shipping to US was no problem. Sparrow just a bad choice.

No economy shipment options Pleasant experience with McNeela kindly explaining reason for cancellation. But still the order cancelled by McNeela because can't be shipped as per shipping cost cited by the website.
