“These kits do the job but little thought has been given to their preparation for shipping: The connector block for the incoming mains may, or may not, have a cable clamp; The cable covers, with a tiny latch, are shut and the outbound side has to be opened again to plug in the battery, and to remove the indicator LED; The indicator LED is plugged into the main unit and its wire is clamped under a no-maintenance ratchet clamp - before it can be installed from the 'outside' of an enclosure all that work has to be undone. The wiring diagram is straightforward but results in a clumsy pair of boxes. Having connected it all, and squeezed it into the surface mount enclosure, it works to drive a standard panel (or have a large panel) at reduced output.”
