About Kidvelo Bikes:

Kidvelo® Bikes is an exciting new brand launched in 2021, specialising in manufacturing kids' balance bikes, some which convert to lightweight pedal bikes. The founders are from two family businesses; the former official Strider Distributors, based in Australia and the UK. We had clear ideas born from 14 years of teaching children to ride, distributing thousands of balance bikes and listening to customers.

“Our 6 year old daughter was struggling with her traditional bike with stabilisers. She was disheartened and hated trying to ride it. I found kidvelo bikes online and after reading every comment, ordered 18inch balance bike with attachable pedals. It was the best decision ever. Delivery was very good and quick. Bike was easy to assemble and absolutely great quality. My husband who has always been into bikes, couldn't find a single fault to the quality. His word was 'superb'. Our daughter started balancing on Friday and she was ready to attach the pedals on Monday. Seeing her big smile and confident riding is priceless. “This bike was great for our 7 year old granddaughter. We initially bought a 14 inch and she shared it with her twin sister. We quickly realised that they were gaining balance on these far more quickly than on their old bikes with stabilisers. Looking at the size, we decided to get the larger bike for the second one. (They are small for their age, but seemed ready for the large size.) Now they are both happily pedalling, and love riding their bikes. We had a small problem with the back wheel on the smaller bike, when adding the pedals. This was quickly resolved. Gaining balance on bikes like these, which are readily converted, is definitely the way to go.”

“This bike was fantastic for my tall and cautious 6 year old who had struggled with other bikes to the point of tears and giving up. She spent 2months with it in balance format building up her confidence and then we put the pedals on when she asked and she got on and rode off without a second thought. She loves cycling now and is always asking to go out.”

“I bought the Kidvelo Rookie 18 for my 5 year old and he was able to balance ride it very quickly. There was also very fast delivery and the bike is good quality. There some faults, firstly, the instructions for assembly are not the clear and the video should have close ups (particularly around the break noodle). I also wasn’t sure exactly what angle the handle bars should be and the Red reflector light is impossible to attach as the bracket for it is too small and so the holes for the screw do not align.”

Hi Laura, Thanks for the review. The red reflector fits to the side of the bracket. I will email you a picture to show you. The handlebars fit at the angle that is best suited to your child’s arm length and are comfortable. Best Wishes, Karen

“The bike is lightweight and was super easy to build on delivery. Our Daughter could feel difference in it's lightweight frame despite it been a bigger size then her previous bike which in turn gave her confidence and independence when going uphill. Unusual to find a kids bike that truly is a 2 in 1, balance bike to pedal bike, and that carers for between 5 - 8 yes old, due to the fully removable pedal kit. No more crank arms bumping into her little legs. Confidence has come on leaps and bounds for balancing after just 30mins, and she is feeling reassured that pedal kit can go on and come off. Wish I had known about Kidvelo before when buying the previous bike!!”
