“Early days, but so far, generally a good product. Advancing/retreating in recorded items playback is plain medieval though. Humax should take a good look at BT's offering, where you can also advance/retreat in 30sec/10sec chunks or, by pressing a number on the digital keypad, by segment (eg 10 segments in a recording, you can jump straight to, say, segment 7), so you get very quickly to any place in the recording. The Humax way is plain frustrating. Fix that Humax, and I think you will have a truly excellent product.”
“My FVP4000T expired after 7 years loyal service. It was my second recorder from Humax so it was an easy decision to stay with the brand. Buying refurbished saved some pennies in these difficult times, but to look at it, you would think it was brand new. Well done Humax.”
“We have two Humax DVR Freeview units, one for me and one for my partner.
They are older models but well used, they only record two channels so I wanted four channels, no clashes anymore.
I got the refurbed unit with a 1TB drive at a good price, set it all up, then found that is seemed very slow to change channels and I didn't actual like the user interface either so I returned it after clearing it with Humax who are very helpful folk.
So, I didn't like this software much, I still have two older ones, I miss having 4 tuners, but Humax has good support people and as a company, are great!
When a new unit comes along I'll still be interested, as long as it's an improvement on the old uns.
