Another excellent Humax M/C Its lovely to be able to get all recordings on one HDD. without all the wires etc looping 2 or 3 m/cs. I hope to get as long good service as Previous models.

I bought it because I wanted to record 3 or 4 channels at one and it does that, However, the presentation of the programme guide is poor and the presentation of recordings is absolutely awful. Far far too cluttered with unwanted and inappropriate information. The text size is too small and there is far far too much pointless, repetitious and unecessary button pressing. I had a Humax Fox HDR before which was pretty decent. How can they have gone so far astray?? I bet they think it's an improvement!!

Only just got this box to upgrade from an older Humax. Quite different in look and use. Agree the manual is a bit poor, but for those who think the neat skip function is gone, it isn't. The time adjustment is still in the options, with the skip moved to the left and right direction arrows. I nearly didn't buy a new box as this function is used all the time.thankfully it's still there and works as before. I also have the media streamer for upstairs,, very early to tell but the jury is still out.

This is a very competent piece of kit. Setting up was relatively easy and the odd query I had was speedily answered by the helpline. The range of capability over my previous humax is impressive but the handbook does not cover every function and a fair amount of "trial and error" was necessary. The one serious niggle I have is that the blue/red light which indicates whether the unit is on/off or recording is situated UNDERNEATH the unit - which effectively makes it useless. Why on earth can it not be put where you can se it?

The amount of recording options are very good indeed, however the interface is a bit clumsy. This is my third Humax recorder and I have always been a fan but I do feel that this new one feels cheaper being made of plastic rather than the quality feel of the preceding models. It is also very noisy. However the worst thing by far is the customer support. I emailed them with a problem of lost recordings which they totally ignored together with my follow up emails. Very very poor, the next time there is a problem I will send the machine back and get a refund as it is not worth the hassle.

So far good I have only had it for about 3 weeks and it performs well I have not been recording a great deal on it ,as I have a humax freesat box and it has been my first recording box . I have one fault with the humax boxes you cannot transfer from one box to another .and I have a lot of good films and documentaries on my old box which I would like to have to transfer onto my new one .. but picture, sound is the same as last box 10/10.
