Humax FVP-5000T Freeview Play Recorder-1TB Reviews

4 Rating 247 Reviews
When I plug the aerial into the box, I get a small number of Freeview channels. When I put the aerial in the old tv, I get all Freeview channels. MU old tv can't be superior tec. An engineer confirmed that the signal is fine and he can't bump it up. I raised it with Customer services, who were very helpful. It is waiting to be send back, but I am on the waiting list for that, because the Repair Dept is too busy . 2 weeks and counting. If it all worked swimmingly I can see it would be a good purchase, for now it is creating only hassle

Required a new PVR to replace the soon to be discontinued EE tv. Bought the 5000T following impressive online reviews, and not disappointed with the unit so far. Very prompt delivery from Humax, and initial set up very straightforward. One early problem involved intermittent and regular brief picture ‘freezing’. Your Customer Support advised signal strength should be about 80%, but there is no mention of this in the quick set up guide or Product Manual. My box showed 100% for signal and quality that I assumed was good! - not so. Bought an inexpensive (£6) variable aerial attenuator and fitted this, reduced the signal to 80% and freezing now eliminated. Perhaps this could be addressed in your set up information?

Bought this new freeview recorder to replace a five year old Humax that had developed a stubborn mind of its own. Didn't realise just how much it had deteriorated. New one is slicker, more options and a wider menu. Had it a few weeks now to get used to it. Love it.

Very good an improvement on the Humax recorder that I had had for many years. Only small criticism is that I miss the ability to skip ads in 30 second chunks instead of fast forwarding and needing fast reactions.

Guide is very poor, most channels say " no programme information available". Takes forever to load up. When watching live tv if you have paused and are watching it behind time and a programme you have set to record starts recording then the live tv catches up with itself and you miss were you have paused from. Very disappointed with it actually!

Wanted a 2 recorder for the bedroom as we are isolating and spend a lot more time at home. Our original FVP-4000T has performed so well over the last 3years so it was a no brained to go for another Humax. The new model with wireless connectivity is absolutely brilliant

Device was easy to set up and is easy to use. The built in WiFi was handy as it can used around the house with no worry about cables. There is a delay when changing channels which I never had with a you view box but I can put up with that . A good product.
