you have to let it warm for 15mins at least before you can go through the program lists. It turns its self on and off at least two times at night, and wakes me. Sometimes doesn't record end of film. quality of recording is good, though and there is room for a lot of recordings. Couple of times a month it freezes so you have to turn it off and restart it. Sometimes when recording it says have to change channel for recording, so you are taken off the channel you are watching, or recording. Worst electric item I have ever bought, and it wasn't cheap.

This machine is quite slow to respond to commands. The indicating lights could only be in a worse place if they were at the back of the machine, ? Sometimes some of the On Demand services choose not to work ? and also the Guide has it's fit and starts with No Information showing at times even on the popular 1 to 4 programmes. These problems have nothing to do with internet connections, as the new TV I bought at the same time as this recorder, works perfectly.

We upgraded to this after our current YouView machine started playing up. The navigation is nowhere near as user-friendly as previous Humax boxes. Why no Information button? - I use that a lot. Navigating round the recorded programs also not very clever. I don't understand why such a mess has been made of something that was a lot better on other boxes. Also I get fed up with it asking me do I want to record in HD - if I wanted to do that I would without stupid prompts! Other than that it's fine in as much as we can record 3 or 4 programs at once and we haven't yet had to deal with frozen screen menus.

This is a very good machine, but it can be very slow and it sometimes auto-deletes a scheduled programme so it can miss an episode in a series which we only find out after the programme has been screened. The on-line catch up and netflix etc. is excellent.

Very good product, only downside is the slowness to respond to the remote control.

I purchased this machine when I moved into a new house and it has more than met my expectations. It was excellent value and was delivered two days after ordering (in spite of the road chaos caused by "The beast from the East"). It does not respond quite as quickly as my Sky box did but there is little room for complaint and I no longer have the monthly charge, which had become very poor value for the little amount of TV which I find time to watch. My main hobby is digital photography and video work and I have developed a critical eye for digital displays. The signal fed from my Humax is excellent and I would be hard pressed to find fault with what I see on the screen. The bottom line is that I purchased this PVR with fairly high expectations, and my wife and I are completely satisfied with the result of our decision to choose this equipment.

Good piece of hardware this with whopping hard drive. Fast operating system relative to my old Tivo. On demand stuff is good, I like the Netflix button - very quick to load. Some drawbacks - no info for programs currently airing in the schedule other than the one you are watching. - Can record on-air programs but can't series link record a program you are currently watching. - The remote app won't let record a program currently on air all issues that could be rectified with a software update.
