Unfortunately my machine arrived broken. I immediately contacted Humax support and over a 10 week period they put me through a process that did nothing to fix the issue. In fact, over that time, the issue got worse to the point where the machine will not switch on. I have asked for a refund and have been told no because too much time has elapsed. Lesson to be taken, if it isn't working 100% when you get it and you think you may want a refund, forget support and return it immediately. In either case you buy with the risk of poor support. Shame as I had expected the machine to be good.

This is a replacement for our old box which dated back to sometime before last update in 2011. It is so much faster in setting programs to record and very compact in size. Overall it is smooth running and easy to use

It's got plenty of disk space, and Freeview Play, but... Where do I start? I was very happy with my HDR-FOX T2 but it kept filling up with HD programs, so I bought this. Why have you changed the user interface? The search facility is a mess. I can't move my recordings into new folders, as I often did before, let alone onto a USB drive. And the response to my clicks on the remote is so slow! I'll give it a few more months, then I may swap back to my good old HDR-FOX T2.

Worst feature red/blue on /off light on BASE of unit. Why this stupid location? Intended for users lying on floor beneath glass table? Also poor EPG architecture.

It's taking some time to get used to this model compared with my previous one, particularly the re-designed remote.

This is a terrific product. So glad I bought it. I can now record up to 4 programs at the same time. Only draw back is there is not enough hours in the day to watch everything! Also I have not had time to find out everything it can do.

We've been Sky customers for over 24 years. A move away from our trusted satellite and all that Sky + offers was a big decision. We took the plunge a month ago, cancelled the contact and opened for the biggest memory FVP we could find. So far, the Humax hasn't disappointed. I'd say the user interface is better that Sky and the option to go 'back in time' and access programs earlier, is a real plus. The recordings are stored in a really useful format of folders (much better than Sky). On the down side, the pause and rewind live TV aren't quite as slick as Sky and I do miss set reminder when an ad for a program comes on but those are very small trade offs for no contact. Would recommend this to anyone considering cutting the cable/satellite.

I am a longstanding fan of Humax since buying an early PVR. I am still getting accustomed to the functional differences from our HDR 2000T and am very pleased with the performance so it is a bit early to give a definitive assessment. .But my big niggle with the new 400T 2TB is the positioning of the LED indicators, which cannot be seen when sitting in the normal screen viewing position.
