“I bought this recently because one of my three Fox T2s started malfunctioning.
Humax now can't or won't support or repair the T2. Had I known this policy would I have bought another machine from Humax?
I don't think so. Its not a cheap product so it isn't really disposable. I don't expect to be replacing kit on a regular basis.
I could not get another T2 as its no longer made. I tried one of the new machines but sadly they don't have the program guide which allows you to continue to watch your program while you are looking at the guide to see what else is on or setting a recording. That is such a bad development. This machine is quite similar to the Fox T2 and works as a replacement. It has the 'live' program guide and so it suits me.
They have changed the remote control from the T2's and there are functions you can't access now, even though they work. I used the tv/radio button a lot on the T2 so I could switch between the two to catch a bulletin or program quickly and easily and
to check the radio program guide while watching TV. The new remote doesn't have the tv/radio button Using the old remote from the T2 it works fine so there are facilities on the machine which you can't use. Seems crazy.”
“Great tech product. I've had Humax PVRs before and found they work very well. The HDR-2000 has an updated modern user interface which is very easy to navigate. Accessing channels, setting recordings and replaying them is very easy. I would really recommend this PVR.”
