The taxi was an hour late, and after many phone calls, and being told it was 5 mins away!!! It eventually showed up!!!
A car that had seen much better days, and had no air conditioning, in 30 degree heat!!!
This is where the fun started!!!
The driver drove like an absolute lunatic! I don't scare easily, but he scared the hell out of me, and my wife and 2 friends!!! Driving around corners on two wheels, with one hand, while talking into his phone!
The taxi then came to a stop on a dangerous road, and we were told to get out, and get into another cab, which had magically appeared behind us! I can only assume, that this was because, the 1st cab was not actually a licenced taxi, and would of been stopped by the police, if had actually turned up at the airport!!!
So, ...we all got into the 2nd cab, thinking, at least this cab had air conditioning!, and we were not all going to die at any second!
I was then astounded to find, the very first time the driver put his foot on the brake, all I could hear, was a very loud scraping noise! "METAL ON METAL"!
I said to the driver that he had no brake pads on his car, and he should not be driving it.!!!!!!
His response was incredible. He actually laughed, and agreed he needed brake pads! What the hell???
If it wasn't the fact, that we were already an hour late, and had no idea where we were, we would of got out and walked!
30 minutes later, and constantly petrified whether the car was actually going to stop when he put his foot on his brake pedal, we got to the airport.
